The opening line was 5 1/2, but is now down to 4 1/2. Pitt is favored, which makes sense. No over under posted as of yet. Visit scoresandodds.com

The line has gone down a point, which means the early money is going on Notre Dame. This is the first of many games ND will expect to be an underdog.

I'm glad the time for talk and wishful thinking is over. The team will be on the field soon enough. We'll see what kind of hand has been dealt....

Maybe its because we have no DB's and a heisman candidate at the helm for Pitt. We're going to need some serious pressure on Palko during this game and our offense will have to put some heavy points on the scoreboard.

I have a feeling they are going to come out and run the ball, then turn Palko loose in the second half.

Brady Quinn was put on the watch list for player of the year LAST year, doesn't mean people actually think he's going to win the thing. Watch list or not, I would hardly consider him a candidate for that award. Plus, he's only a sophmore.

Greg Lee is the guy that scares me. In recent history ND has failed to make any effort to stop big play wide outs - Lee, Charles Rogers, Plaxico Burress, Mike Williams -and even some not so big play guys.

That has to change this year, and it will probably have be done by scheme because the team is thin on the personnel side.

Palko destroyed ND last year in South Bend. Worst live game I have ever seen. They are going to have to pressure him HARD and get after him. He has the ability to put up big numbers against anyone. He could get into the Heisman top 5, but Leinart, Peterson and Bush have to be the favorites right now.

As for Lee, the secondary will have their first test right off the go. This guy can play. I'd throw everything but the kitchen sink at Pitt's passing offense. Switch up the coverages, disguise looks so Palko gets confused and bring plenty of safety help for Richardson or whichever one of the shaky corners will be covering Lee. No one on the roster can hang with Lee one on one.

Most recent line is at 3 1/2. People are starting to get a sense that ND's gonna take care of business come Sept. 3rd.

Typcially, I go against the grain when it comes to this stuff.

If the betting public is hammering ND, this is not a good sign.
