Af the very least, this is a PR disaster. Not sure how Dowd wouldn’t think there would be push back here. Horrid start for a guy most older alums don’t feel like they even know.

The harsh reality is an overwhelming number of students aren't going to ND because of the Catholic mission anyway. The Catholic mission in the US has been declining for decades. Pope Leo has his work cut out for him to turn that around.
