Notre Dame/Air Force Question

I was wondering if someone could explain to me why this series was not renewed. I live in Colorado Springs and this was the only chance I had to see my beloved Irish in person. I went to the last 2 games at Falcon Stadium, and was hoping for many more. Is there any chance the series will pick back up in the future?

We historically play the service academies fairly often, and though I am sure the series will eventually continue, from what I have seen, neither Army nor Air Force are slated for games with the Irish in the near future.

EDIT: PADOMERNUT corrected me. We play Army in Chicago and then again in Orlando in '10 and '11.

Not sure other than Airforce doesn't do much for strength of schedule.

Navy is the marquee service academy opponent and the only one that has an open offer to play ND every year.

Army is on the schedule in 2010 and 2011, havent seen anything about Air Force though but I would be surprised if this series doesnt pick back up again soon.

thanks guys...guess I was just spoiled with the last 2 home and home matchups. For any that have not been to a ND game here at the academy, the Irish fans are out in full force.. easily outnumbering the falcon fans, if you dont count the cadets themselves. and everyone here is very impressed with how the team carries themselves... there is obvious repect shown for the cadets and what they stand for.

other than the regulars, USC, Navy, Michigan and Mich State, most other people on our sched will only be two years in a row. for example, i think they have a deal with the Big East and ACC to play one team or two teams per year. so we will play those teams in back to back seasons then diff teams in those confs the next two years and so on. if we ever play airforce and army again, it will likely be two years in a row then not again for a while.
