Wow - this is no small potatoes. The next 48 hours should be interesting. I wonder if South Korea will even wait for the UN Council before retaliating.

They're on standby to attack, but only if North Korea continues to provoke them. I don't think they will. North Korea lets out little bursts of aggression, but it pulls back before a full scale war. The South tolerates it because they have no desire to go back to war and because only an unambiguous North Korean attack will draw the US into the fighting and keep the Chinese out.
