I will really miss #40 anchoring our defense. I am, however, expecting some big things next year from Toryan Smith (AKA "The Beast") and Steve Filer (AKA "The Prodigy"). Both will have to step up next year and I believe that they will. It wouldn't hurt to have T'eo or Jenkins (or both) to add depth at a position that used to be weak and is now shaping up to be a strength.

i'm bullish on carlo. certainly teo and jenkins w/b awesome as well. i will miss crum's leadership but i think we'll see upside to replace him on the field. a guy like that, though, can never be replaced in the locker room. hopefully he rubbed off on some of the younger guys and a new leader will emerge and take the reigns.

how can you guys forget about brian smith. he is going to eat running backs alive. especially when he comes back in full strength next season.

Yeah, I do expect big things from Brian Smith next year as well. He was the most valuable defensive player and the biggest defensive playmaker on our team and we weren't the same without him. I hope that next year we have enough playmakers so that we aren't so reliant one one single player. I think that Brian Smith will be a Butkis finalist next year...but we need the guys around him (Kerry Neal, Steve Filer, Toryan Smith, etc) to step up so that teams can't focus on containing one player.
