I was telling my buddy that it was fun to watch a team (Devils) that just played good, hard-nosed hockey. No cheap shots (like Phoenix) and not a lot of extra-curricular activities. Just good, classy hockey. With the exception of the Bernier penalty, it was a very clean series. Even that hit wasn't really "intent" to injure, he just didn't pull up when he should have. Unfortunate.
Brodeur is just professionalism and class personified. Class act all the way. His moment with Quick in the handshake line was kind of a passing of the torch in my opinion. Quick was telling him to play another year, but Brodeur was really giving him some words of praise. Moments like those are one of the many reasons I love hockey so much.
I gained a TON of respect for the Devils during this series. Very fun series to watch and it could have easily gone another way.
