Interesting that the video commentary is from Pete Sampson of II, and he talks about Filer, Fleming, Beal, Hale, and Brown as being prospects, but does not mention Sweat. Probably does not mean anything, but interesting nonetheless. It could be just that Poz & McDonald, and the 5 other guys that he talks about are all at least Rivals 250 now, and Sweat did not make either Rivals list.

Yet ESPN has Andrew Sweat ILB PA listed @ #11 overall ... WTF!?!

#11 was on their first one before about 75% of the D1 recruits were evaluated. He has since dropped, but not that far to #26. He will probably drop down to around #40 when they have completed all their evaluations, but I am pretty sure they have now evaluated all of the ND offered LB's and they have Sweat rated higher than everyone but Brown.

Also all of the ND LB offers are on the most recent ESPN 150 except Filer, which is ridiculous. On every other board Filer is right up there with Hale as the 2nd best LB in the country behind Arthur Brown.

Here is the link to the updated as of today ESPN 150:

That just goes to show that we shouldn't read to much into position rankings from 1-20. It is all subjective until the player gets into a system, and plays with the big boys.

Relax guys. ESPN won't rank a player until they have seen him play. I'm sure once they see Filer he will be ranked as highly on their list as he is on the others.

I think that video clearly shows that Hayle and Brown are on a different level than anybody else.

I think a tier below them is McDonald, Filer and Fleming, and then the third tier is players like Beal. (I haven't seen video on Poz yet)

I'm not saying Beal is a third-tier linebacker, just not on the same level as the other guys.

Bottom line is that CW will get the players that want to come to ND. He evalutes the talent based on what scheme best fits ND. Rivals and ESPN are not the Off/Def Coordinator of ND. I always look back and view the "can't miss" list from high school to college and believe there are some "can't miss" guys who wiffed badly.
