I'm just happy we held on to everybody today...thats a minor victory..

It's a major victory Claus. We've been burned in the last few years. Now, the rest is gravy. The class is good, but just not very deep. Next year we're going to load up with 25 schollies baby. Next year's class, by all accounts, could be a monster class. I wasn't hearing that about this year's class. But I'd LOVE to get just one more though...

I think we picked up some solid players in this class but we missed out on A LOT of 5 start talent. I do not put much weight in stars but Scout has us only having (1) 5star recruit and Rivals has us having none. I think Motta, Watt, and Evans are going to be good players for the Irish but I do not see a lot of star players in this class. No I am not sold on Wood...he seems to fit the same mold as a lot of the RB we already have on campus. OK that is all the doom and gloom I going to say for the day. Sorry the koolaid taste like piss this morning!

Hey... when it comes down to it, the 5 star ranking may come down to nothing more than a massive bust.

I agree totally and 3 stars can become stars but the more high profile recruits you bring in the better chance you have of a few of them being studs! I do not see woods film being as good as Allen, Aldrige, Gray, or even Hughs the last couple of years. Hopefully, the OL changes will help all these guys reach their potential but I do not see woods sniffing the field the next 2 years...just my opinion after looking at his film!

Sam Bradford and Pat White, I believe, were 3 stars.

jeremy i agree that the koolaid tastes like piss today but i think Wood will be the mike floyd of this class. we'll check back in on this topic this fall but that's my take. i pimped the fk out of floyd and he delivered so hopefully i'm right on this one.

Well, so far we got all 16 we expected. I hope we get one or two more, but I don't expect it.

This class is a few people too small. We were really only able to take ~20 based on who we have and who is coming back.

I am a bit frustrated that we missed out on a couple of the bigger guys...but this class filled some needs we had...so that's very good.

A lot of people are forgetting about Stockton and even Calabrese. On Cowherd's show this morning (mysterious west coast hour), the ESPN scouting guy said that Stockton was going to be a beast for us...

My thing is I know it was suppose to be a small class but take out the 3 special team players and you are left with 13 guys...say a couple transfer and a couple just don't pan out and we are looking at a VERY small class! Isn't that one of the main issues we had with Ty? CW is a great recruiter but I just cannot call this a good class by ND standards!

The thing is, only 8 guys from last years class actually used any eligibility last year. As long as Charlie lets more guys come back for 5th years. You really only need to average 18-20 recruits per class to fill out a full roster.

Personally, I'd rather get a solid 18 every year, than get a so-so 25 class that has a bunch of Attrition. Just my preference though.

You are so right. Cierre is going to be able to contribute from Day One! Saw the kid play in person this year and he just looked like a man among boys. If he puts in some time in the weight room between now and when he gets on campus, he is going to play as a frosh, no doubt about it.

The biggest announcement of the day is a few minutes away. Linebacker Manti Te'o has narrowed his choices down to Notre Dame, UCLA, USC and Stanford. Here's what Billy Tucker had to say about Te'o in his chat earlier today: "I don't think Te'o goes to South Bend, but I like the word solid to describe ND's class. This isn't a spectacular group like the last few years, but it should address some key needs for Charlie Weis' team
