No, I don't doubt it at all. Eventually they'll hire the right guy. But my point was that just because they have more money than anybody, doesn't mean they'll be relevant.
Still have to find the right guy, and that's tough. Throwing money at a hot coach doesn't always work. Michigan did that with Rodriguez and they had some disastrous seasons. Then they went the other route and hired an unproven in Hoke- kind of like Texas did when they hired Strong- and it lead to a lucky start in year one, then disaster the next 3 seasons.
Michigan got lucky that Harbaugh became available and that he was a former player who worships Bo Schembechler. Bc if he didn't have that emotional connection, no way in hell they land him, he'd be coaching an NFL team right now.
