The new requirements will start with the class of 2016. The article says schools will now be able to give kids an "Academic Redshirt."

Is this suppose to do anything? Recruit the same kids and sit them a year while they inflate their grades.

A survey conducted by the NCAA indicated that of all freshmen football players to enroll at Division I schools last fall, approximately 40 percent would have failed to meet the 2016 requirements.
