I've played 2007 and 2008. Are their any major differences/improvements?

The only major difference I can tell is that during time outs you get a nice breakdown of what your opponent is doing. % of formations used, run/pass breakdown. It's basically the same as 07. However, a fade route to Kamara in the red zone has been money for me so far. Also, you may want to use "Multiple D" for your defensive play book. If you use "team specific" you can't run a 3-4. wtf?
Aldridge plays very well. I've had success running behind Sam Young. He doesn't go down after first contact but can be hawked down in the open field. Oh, I almost forgot. ND's kickoff team on the game is awful! You may want to insert some defensive starters in there. I hope they really don't play like that this year.

I haven't played too much, but it seems to be an improvement over last year's version. Last year there were a few glitches that I have not seen to this point. I like the new running dynamic and diving over the pile at the goalline is cute.
I liked the TD celebrations the first couple of times but it gets repetitive.

shamrock, what console are you using? i know on the ps3 version, ND's defense is set to the 3-4. and after playing some of the 08 games, ncaa 09 is 1000x times better than any of the 08 games on next gen. the gameplay is so smooth and the graphics and player models are much better. anyone that wants to play online on the ps3, hit me up.

THey have Northwestern being a better team than us... hard to complain after a 3-9 season but even the haters have to rec. the youth movement on the team last year...

I'm playing on the PS2 as well. Allen is sick, wicked and nasty in this game. He's so fast and quick if you get him to the outside he's gone.

I've played 2 games online so far and I won both. 68-7 win against Washington (take that Ty) and a 24-14 win against LSU (where everything seemed to go wrong).

I'm loving this game so far, the only thing is there are a few missing players. I know that Deion Walker and John Goodman both aren't in it, but they are also missing Blanton. Also, does anybody know who MLB #50 is? I've named everyone on the roster but can't find out who he is.

Go to Online. Then to EA Locker. Where it says Eneter Gamertag enter: joshuahuskers and that should get it for you.

Yeah, my last game I fumbled on the kickoff and fumbled on the 2 yard line and my defender tipped a pass and they caught it and scored. I HATE IT!!!!

I got the names off of Ebay for PS3, you pay like $5 bucks, and they tell you how to download it to a zip drive and put it on your PS3. As for PS2 you can pay like $25 and they will send you a memory card w/ the file saved on there. I played for the first time last night and got murdered online.

I have this game for 360 and its awesome. The recruiting stuff is isane as well, off season recruiting is important if you're doing the dynasty mode. You could always edit your rosters by hand, I heard there were issues with using the rosters that are out there right now on the internet, something with the game freezing when they are used. I dunno...might want to steer clear of that. Either way, the game is great, i rocked my friend with ND vs. PSU my defense couldn't stop jack though. Secondary got burnt all day by PSU's WRs. They are pretty nice in the game.

I think its only if you edit them after you DL a roster from the locker. They are coming out with a patch within the next week.

I would talk smack to you but I hate when I lose by one score and have four more trunovers than the other guy, it rarely happens but when it does it sucks.

My thoughts on the above and the game as a whole so far

-Michigan is 1-6 in my Dynasty... every week I'm like they HAVE to win today... nope
running the spread with those QBs will do that though

-My highlights are sick too, but Im not getting live any time soon

-Robert Hughes is GARBAGE in this game, no knock on the real thing, but in this game, he is as useful to my offense as the goalpost

-The pass coverage AI was dumbed down WAY too far this year... they go from superhuman AI to never cover a thing AI in one year... I have played all games of ND schedule up to UNC on Heisman with very little AI adjustments and have found running is VERY hard and passing is a cake walk every game... slants are unstoppable even for CPU...

-conversly they also dumbed down the AI on the user side and the cpu can light it up through the air with ease too... 3rd and longs are laughable this year... I can't stop them...
Standfor put up 400 yards passing in an 8 minute game on Heisman... ouch

-Picks are way too easy though, I know that sounds weird after the above rant but the only way I stop the passing game is through picks and I take a pick six every game, it's getting ridiculous.

-Is anyone else having fumble issues with J.A.???

-*** Question for Ramma or other noted NCAA experts on here*** I'm having a ton of trouble pass rushing... I can't break a block this year to save my life... 5 games in and only ONE sack. Are you gusy having the same troubles?? I don't want to play on All American b/c everything else plays fairly realistic on Heisman... I know Ramma typically takes someone off the D Line but I mix between that and a Line Backer, rarely ever using a DB until the ball is thrown... so, anyone got some tips?

-Recruiting mode "Quick Calls" is a great and highly needed feature... last year recruiting was SICK but it took too damn long... now you can speed it up when you need too.

-The game is still inferior to Madden gameplay wise but it made some leaps this year... I will say this is still the better game IMO due to the college feel, teams, recruiting and such but Madden plays more realistic game engine wise which is more a compliment to Madden than a knock on this game

-Allen is the truth.
