Bowling for Grades: NCAA adds academic minimum to qualify for a bowl game - Dr. Saturday - NCAAF Blog - Yahoo! Sports

The board voted to raise the Academic Progress Rate benchmark from 900 to 930 and supported a penalty structure that will require teams to earn at least a 930 four-year, rolling APR in order to participate in postseason competition.

As of now, there's no specific timeline for implementing the plan, which probably won't be finalized until October. Officials said in a press conference there will likely be a three-to-five-year window to allow schools to prepare for the tougher standards

8 programs that made bowl games last year were below the benchmark. Unbelievably, not a single SEC school had an APR lower than 930.

Michigan was one of the programs that had an APR that would have been below the benchmark last year, with a score of 928.

They don't say it in the article, but in that picture thing, Arkansas has only an APR of 927. Oh and South Carolina with one of 929.
