Ok.......so we know that the performance of the offense has been, at best, piss-poor so far. There's been much debate about whether it is the result of talent, or coaching. To me, the Navy game will point a finger in one direction or the other. Our offensive line will be going against an undersized defense. I would imagine that Latina and Weis will choose to mostly man block, straight up. If we can't push Navy's D line around, then I don't want to hear any more complaining about the coaching of the offensive line.

Actually, the same goes for the defense. Navy is going to move the ball. They don't lead the NCAA in rushing, year after year, just because of the schedule they play. They are a technically sound team. They are disciplined, and they almost never quit. However, we should be physically superior at every position on the field. I'm going to be paying close attention to this game. Not so much to has a great game. I expect a few guys to have great games against Navy. But I am going to be paying close attention to who has a BAD game. If you can't beat your man consistently, against Navy, then you probably are not good enough to play at ND.

Right on, no doubt about it. We better put a hurtin' on them. To be honest, if they manage to run the ball for 800 yards and pull out the win, I can live with it so long as we look like a frigging team again, especially on offense.

Yeah this is a "close watch" game for me as well. There is no excuse to not be able to be able to push these undersized midshipmen.

My #1 hope for the Navy game is that ND RUNS the ball well, and OFTEN. This is a game tailor made for getting the many kinks out of the running game. I'd hate to see the oppurtunity squandered.

Almost to a man, offensive linemen say that the game they love is the one where you get to man block, just firing out and blasting the guy across from you. I expect this will be the scheme for next week. If the O line doesn't perform, then they have either A.) No heart
B.) No talent C.) both A and B. If they DO push Navy around at the line, then expect to hear Weis talk about how that was an offensive lineman's dream.......to just fire off the ball and smack the guy across from them.
