Wow.

I'm a little nervous. We struggled a bit with the run today.

Michigan won 31-7 over Western Michigan. We won 35-0 over Nevada.

Already, Michigan fans are trash talking. They're talking about how amazing Tate Forcier and Denard Robinson are, and how overrated and bad Jimmy Clausen is.

They're already claiming Michigan's superiority. They're already saying Tate Forcier is going to tear apart our secondary and that Denard is going to run allll over us.

They're saying their win was WAY better than ours. Nevada is WAY better than Western Michigan.

Kaepernick > Forcier/Robinson

That is ALL.

yeah I am already hearing the trash talk too. I am not all that worried though. I know that we faced a very versatile Q in Kaepernick and I felt we had good pressure and contain for what it was worth, for most of the game. I did notice that blanton got burned a few times by some (what i felt to be) just average receivers. I hope that he turns it up when they play in the big house. and I also know that everyone is going to have a hard time defending our awesome receiving core. mix that in with the big guy rudolph on occasion, and some good hard running from our bunch of running backs, and you have yourself an overwhelming offensive attack that will give anyone fits. The key is <<gulp>> good line play, we gotta continue to have solid protection and good run blocking, as well as the D line stepping up and reclaiming LOS and not letting that middle run eat us up like they did today. the coaches will work on it. i have faith

I think the preparation for Nevada will help ND tremendously against Michigan. They don't use the same offense but dealing with a mobile qb back to back weeks will help.

Jason Gotch on FSN was already saying Michigan will beat ND next week, and was downplaying our win over Nevada, as well as our schedule this year.

28-17.

F em all.

Look at WMU 1 td. How did the score? They exposed the weak side receiver and took him down field. They wont know what hit them when Tate and Floyd show up to play. The big HOUSE will be silenced!

I hate Michigan too, and I admit, I didn't see their game nor their highlights (yet). However......I'm not going to be one of those fans that WE ALL HATE and say their win wasn't a good one. Remember, lots of 'experts' and even people here (when I could log the f*** on LOL) were saying that Western Michigan could upset Michigan and that it was not an easy game for them, you know, the same way people were talking about us and Nevada. So I was very impressed with the way Michigan went out and beat what was clearly in hindsight an inferior opponent. Kudos to them, I'm not taking anything away from them.

Tell you what though, next week just got a whole lot more interesting. I was predicting a blowout win, but not anymore. Looks like Vegas was right, it's a closer game than ND fans like me thought. Still see a 10 point win though...

None of the posts on other forums I read are down playing your win, in fact ESPN was all over how good Jimmy looked. I do think that BOTH wins were over lesser teams while at the same time showing that BOTH our programs are on the way back up.

Tim Hiller is a very good QB but he didn't have ND's receivers or or O line so I'm still nervous that ND will throw all over us, but I do think Michigan will be able to run on your D. In the end it should be a good game but I doubt it will a blow out for ND like most of the predictions on here say.

It's UM in the big house - you always have to be nervous. If we went in without being nervous - that spells doom. But,I think our guys have the tools. And, Forcier is getting tackled by the Smiths - not MAC guys.

Don't kill me, guys, but I gotta agree with our Michigan friend here. :)

I do think our Irish will be able to throw for a LOT of real estate, but I think the "D" is going to be challenged by the Wolverines' running game. We need our own running game to step up and make some good tough runs, like AA did yesterday.

I also don't think it will be a blowout, but I thnk the Irish win comfortably. I also have to grudgingly admit that I think, as the season goes on, Michigan is going to get better and better.

I think the defense will be much better against the run next week. The D was focused on a very mobile quarterback which exposed the middle of the D-Line. If anyone noticed, when Nevada put in the replacement QB, they couldn't run anywhere. Once he came in, the mobility factor was gone. I think we will do fine. Teams are going to have to outscore ND. This will not be easy this year.

Michigan has two pretty mobile QB's, none to the extent of Kaepernick, but Robinson is fast and Forcier has decent speed and a decent arm. Our offense should be fine, running might be tough against their one DE (forgot his name) who was a stud against WMU. Can't wait to see Floyd blow by Cissoko again and again like the High School all american game. I still think we win by a favorable margin though.

That's a classy post, so go easy guys, he's not here to flame. You're right Curtis, he makes good points. Like I said up above, Michigan did what many thought they weren't going to do, and in a week of HUGE turmoil at that. And I just saw the Mich highlights, and that dude Robinson can scoot! Damn he looked fast and shifty on that TD. And Tate looked good on his TD throw as well. Next week just got a lot more interesting...

That DE? Brandon Graham. I'm confident we can handle him. Basped and Moch didn't touch Clausen this week.

Comparing an all Big10 and potential All American DE with the likes of Nevada is a little much, I think you'll find that our starting D line and linebackers will be more than able to frustrate ND. It's our secondary that is unnerving, while there is some talent back there experience is not.

I'm not too giddy about the 8, 12, and 18 yard runs Nevada got in big chunks against our defense inside.

With that being said, I see UM running more stretch/ sweep/ outside plays than in between the tackles. I hope.

With UM dominating Western Michigan, next Saturday got a lot bigger. It's the 2nd biggest game of the week behind OSU and USC.

UM's game plan should be the ND game plan for Nevada. Score early, long drives, ball control, milk a lot of clock, and keep the ball away from Clausen as much as possible.

I believe Tenuta will have the same mindset against UM as he did this weekend. Stop the run first. Man up on the receivers. And wreak havoc and confuse the freshman QB's.

Those who know - Kiper and Schad (supposedly) say the 2 Nevada DEs are going to be playing on Sunday. Nevada was ranked highly last year in stopping the run).

Last year Nev. was 8th in tackles for losses, 6th against the run, and 10th for sacks (in the nation) - that's not this year but let's not just discount them as WAC (as MMay did after 1st predicting they were the second comming) - yes they were last in pass defense - However - UMs secondary may be suspect. As I've said -UMin big house is never easy and never can be discounted in any fashion. They did surprise me against WMU.

I will be slighly nrevous at the beginning if the michigam game, just as I was at the beginning of the NEV game. But I expect ND to overwhlem michigan with the talent on the field.

on offense
We utilize all skill positions on offense, how is michigan going to stop all our offensive weapons?

on defense
Our defense, still has questions for sure (funny I say that after a shutout) but they already proved they can lock up a mobile QB, and forcier is not going to be more mobile than kaepernick.

I do and I want the guys who are still around to remember that @$# whipping and want to do something about it. Thanks SI- keep all the negatives coming.

I do.

The funny thing is, Michigan fans are assuming the same thing will happen this year if they pressure Clausen.

Basped put Clausen on his ass once or twice, the first time he came up hobbling a little bit. I think we can contain Brandon Graham, I think Weis will go to his side early and often like he did against Basped. It got Basped flustered and angry. I loved it.

Run a couple of stretch plays to that side, throw a couple of swings and screens...then go deep.
