I think Michigan is the #1 team in the country. In a neutral field, they would beat OSU. I hated hearing Meyer crying about how "Michigan already had their shot." Crap. The only other team that had their shot and lost, only to get a rematch in the title game, was Florida in 96. Florida is the last team that can complain about a team getting their shot.

Actually, it's not Michigan that got screwed the worst.

It's the Orange Bowl.

Wake Forest v Louisville?

Sounds like a match up from the dregs of the ESPN2 schedule. Or the Meineke Car Care Bowl.

Your not joking there! ACC Vs Big East. I hear there giving away tickets!

I hate the human element as to who gets to plays in the NC game. Florida's getting in based on the human voters opinion that their number 2, just doesn't make sense to me.

Championship games shouldn't be based on opinions, they should be based on facts, and the only way to base it on facts is to have a playoff and let these teams play one another on the football field.

But you have to admit its gonna be nice watching OSU slap around Urban and his Gators.

I gotta wonder...if the Suckeyes lost by 3 in the Big House, how many here would be pleading their case for a rematch? Honestly....

Hopefully no one.

For the same reason no one would root for Lucifer to get a second chance in the battle for heaven.

O$U is pure evil.

That's a bad attitude....anyone who can honestly say they wouldn't be yakking about OSU's case has no business crying for Michigan. The facts don't change, only the teams...which means you really don't care about the facts (and system for that matter), you're just pissed that Florida got the nod.

Me, I don't really care if it was OSU or Michigan that got screwed....I hate em equally. For me to pick one over the other would be like trying to decide whether I want salt or pepper on my turd sandwich for lunch.

Why should there always be an absolute-final-definitive-no-questions-asked-cut-and-dry-black-and-white (you get the picture) national champion? This is a part of college football that we all love. As much angst as it gives us, we all love arguing over who's better than who, who could beat who, what could have happened, what SHOULD have happened etc. Which great teams of the past was really the greatest. Without the gray areas, the unknowns, the horizons where teams nobody gives a shot have chances at glory, where's the fun? Where's the mystery? I'm not saying the BCS is grand, I'm not saying we shouldn't have a playoff, but why is everyone SO FREAKING uptight about the whole thing? This is the adventure. UF plays OSU, who knows who's gonna win? Did you think UCLA would beat USC? Things aren't always the way we think they should be, and I for one, wouldn't even WANT it to always be my way. Where's the fun in that? I for one, hate tOSU MUCH more than Florida, and who know, they could lose? I just actually like the debates, the fun of analyzing all the teams. Sometimes I feel like a big playoff would make things too much like the NFL. I dunno, maybe i'm just tired of people complaining.

Why Is There A Michigan Fan Among Us? Someone Please Tell Me!?

For the uninitiated, Maison Bleu is cool, for a Michigan fan anyway. There's a reason why he has so many posts and such a high reputation rating. He knows what he's talking about, and he's worth reading. And when he takes digs at Notre Dame, it's usually for a good reason.

VictorsValiant, on the other hand, is a jackass. You can slag him all you like. But Maison Bleu is cool. ;)

Vince, I think you meant Victorsvaliant. And ditto to everything else you said.

As to the topic of this thread, the system is indeed flawed. It is as if (Feinstein said this) they play the basketball tourney up to the finals but, instead of playing the final game, the sportwriters vote on the champion.

Question, Everything else the same, but if Michigan had lost to tOSU in the middle of the season and Florida had lost the last game of the season to Auburn, would Florida still be going?

I think Michigan got screwed, however, if Michigan had been selected, then it would have been Florida who would have been screwed.
