I know most would like to forget anything about this game but it was still a great game. A classic in my eyes, just sucks ND came out on the losing end. It happens though, just enjoy this though, if you can.

It shouldn't have even been close.

Gez. lol

Note: Our running game (out of the spread) is the best running game we've had in a long time.

Yea wtf is up with going under center in short yardage EVERY TIME?! What happened to the pistol formation, we need to get back to using that again.

Idk. I personally don't like all the pulling that goes on during a run only needing a couple yards, but that's just me. If it worked, I could careless. I still wouldn't like it, but how could I be upset if it works? That being said, it shouldn't matter. Our guys have to win in the trenches. Period.

Its good but not consistent, and when ND really needs it for short yardage and killing some clock it evaporates.

See the thing is was Michigan was bringing 11 guys and clogging the middle every 3rd and 1. Michigan outnumbered us, so that leaves an unblocked guy. I wouldn't have mind seeing a flip to Wood on one of those short yardage play, he might have taken it to the house, because Michigan was selling out for an inside run. It also hurt our short yardage that our best blocking TE, Mike Ragone, got injured int he first half and missed most of the game.

I think that fumble Denard scored on should be made into a play.

Right as the HB jumps, he turns and pitches it to the QB. That'd be awesome. haha

Teams have been running short yardage plays from under center for decades!! Why is it that some people suddenly think that is some kind of abomination?

Because Brian Kelly's spread offense is in shotgun for 90% of the time! Last year ND ran short yardage plays in the shotgun, but not this year...

I personally don't think it was a classic game. I thought it was two bad teams playing bad defense especially in the last few minutes. ND was lucky to drive down and take the lead with 30 seconds left and shoelaces 80 yds in 3 plays was a total joke. I'm sure it was exciting for the casual observer but it was bad football.

I attended the game and it was an instant classic, really a shame for either team to lose. Michigan's athletic director has made a dramatic difference in the game experience with the two new jumbotrons, and the multimedia stuff really had the crowd pumped up. People who had attended every home game for 30 years said it was by far the loudest they've ever heard the stadium.

Sucks to lose, but to keep it in perspective nobody blew out a knee. I would say nobody died, but I'm not so sure. I was seated in the corner of the ND end zone and a guy about 15 seats away from me had what looked like a cardiac arrest. One EMT was frantically performing chest compressions while another was opening up a defibrillator. The look on the faces of the victim's friends/relatives was tragic. When they finally put him on a stretcher to take him out I got a glimpse through the wall of EMT's and thought I saw his hands clasp over his chest, so it looks like they resuscitated him. Hope he did OK.

Despiite the loss, ND can take some positive mojo out of it. Just have an average number of turnovers and they win the game. UM OTOH couldn't get any pressure on the qb and despite trying a power run offense it was quite clear they just don't have the horses to make it work. That will take a couple of years to fix.

Fans from both sides were very gracious, a few mouthy drunks on both sides but not even a hint of a confrontation. The state police busted the guy in front of me for a booze bottle in his pocket.

The 360 degree high res picture they took of all the fans from the center of the field is interesting. Something like 5 billion pixels, you can pick yourself out from the crowd of 114 ,804 and see your own face quite clearly.
