Personally, I am glad we don't have to think about it. But, in the world of supposition, then I would say I would be sickened and embarassed to hear these things coming out knowing ND does not need to stoop to that level in order to get kids to come to school here.

I would have to agree. Although I want Notre Dame Football to get the best of the best athletes. There's something to be said for a clean, honest program that might pick up a few quality 3 star guys, rather than bribe a couple 4 star guys who may or may not have great character.

although it was being reported a couple years back that one of the jobs Meyer interviewed for was the ND job, it appears he was never in fact offered the job. thankfully your hypothetical is just that.

but i don't think ND fandome or alumni would put up with what he is doing.

I love being a cynic, so I'll say this... If you were to get Simon from OSU because the ND coach spewed lies about OSU, I'm sure you guys will be singing a different tune.

I hope this is hypothetical, becuase if true, I would not be singing a different tune. It is never okay no matter what the circumstances. Dirty recruiting is dirty recruiting.

If it is not hypothetical, can you tell me what lies are being spewed (and who Simon is. Are also trying to take Alvin and Theodore) ?

it just shows the quality character that c.w. has and when he preaches about being a quality person he shows these kids by example. and if it was our coach who was a dirty recruiter some may say as long as hes winning i dont care what he does but for some i think it would really tarnish the feeling of notre dame being the ones who set the bar for how to act and show kids right from wrong. just me though

well, i can't speak for everyone else so please don't include me in "you guys." If any coach on the ND coaching staff used lies and deception to get any recruit (Simon included) I would not not be happy about it and would voice my displeasure.

The policy that CW has towards ND verbals (if you're looking, we're looking) I believe is indicative of what he expects from recruits and what he gives to recruits. You can say alot of things about him, but when it comes recruiting I believe he has a lies = mistrust policy and doesn't do it.

The Jacksonville, FL newspaper rejported today that Dee Finley, the highly touted Safety, did not qualify academicalliy and will not play for the Gators this Fall. This is in addition to a former standout in Jacksonville Jamar Hornsby who was arrested and charged with credit card theft.
Meyer seems to attract these characters because they buy into his BS/lies . Surprised he was able to get Will Hill but it does me one wonder about his character also.
