i'm glad someone saw this other than me. i've pretty much given up watching espn but i was flipping through stations and landed on espn right when that segment came on. pretty funny i guess.
It is obvious that ESPN likes him saying things like this for some reason, maybe for ratings, otherwise they would have told him to shut up a long time ago. It is one thing to criticize ND for legitimate reasons but is it an entirely different thing carry out some sort of personal vendetta, which it is obvious that Mark May is doing.
Who's Mark May?
If you have it, ESPNnews is a nice alternative. It is what Sportcenter used to be but 24 hours a day.
If you must watch sports center, flip it off when the college football crew comes on.
It's OK to watch games. Go get something to eat or take a leak at halftime.
If you MUST watch those yahoos on ESPN, please PLEASE PLEASE stopping running back to ND boards and crying anytime Mark May says something about Notre Dame. He doesn't like us. We get it. Many are sick of reading about it.
Player who gets too much love: Brady Quinn
Coach who can't win the big game: Charlie Weis
Yeah, I stopped watching ESPN pretty much. I do watch MNF and the Thursday game of the week. I got tired of watching ESPN Slamming ND.
Did any of you hear any of the USC bashing for losing to UCLA? Probably not because there was no slamming. ND Beats UCLA in a tight game and ND Sucks. Charlie questions the system and he is labeled a crybaby, Urban questions the system and he is labeled a genius. Watch how they start kissing ND's Ass when the Irish are playing for the National Title in a couple of years.
It was funny to see the UCLA player take a shot at Corso and Herbie after the USC game.
I don't mind hearing it. I'm sure you're right. But he's wrong.I think I know why Mark May hates Nd so much. As far as I know, he shouldn't have any history of hating Nd. He went to Pitt, which plays Nd pretty well and doesn't have a rivarly with them.
You may not want to hear this, but I think it has to do with Willingham's firing. Before that, he didn't really care much about Nd. He was a populist who rooted against big teams. His love for USC is an exception. He really started this after Willingham's firing, and I think every move he makes to diminish Nd is motivated by his belief that the firing had a racial basis (either b/c Willingham was more disposable or that it was overt).
The Willingham stuff still bothers me. It wasn't just the win/loss record, it was the fact that the team was headed in the wrong direction and anyone who followed ND football could see that.
Walt Harris just got fired from Stanford after 2 years - I don't think his skin color had anything to do with it. The pressure to win, and the money involved for the school if you do win is greater then it ever was.
Think how much more money the school has received as a result of the success of the football team last year and this year. They would have never made a BCS bowl had they allowed Willingham to finish his contract.
......please PLEASE PLEASE stop running back to ND boards and crying anytime Mark May says something about Notre Dame. He doesn't like us. We get it. Many are sick of reading about it.
