This Friday (Sep 24th) Marc Edwards will be in South Bend at the College Football Hall of Fame for an autograph session before the Stanford Football weekend begins.

Marc Edwards was a four-year starting fullback for ND and graduated in '97. He was coached by Lou Holtz and was one of only two players, along with Rudy, to ever be carried off the field. He also had a successful career in the NFL, playing for five different teams and winning a superbowl with the Patriots in 2002.

I feel obligated to post because Mr. Edwards graces my avatar. The first time I became really aware of him was the Navy game his freshman year in '93. Notre Dame trailed at halftime 24-17 when Holtz turned it over to the freshman trio of Edwards, Randy Kinder, and Robert Farmer. Edwards scored three touchdowns and ND won handily 58-27. I don't know why that game is so vivid in my memory but it is. He was exceptional throughout the rest of his career and as mentioned before was a truly powerful runner. One of my favorite players and a real ND man.

I've got his picture hanging over my head on the wall as we speak. One of my all time favorites.

Ok everyone please don't yell at me,but I've never known much of this guy.
I've always seen he's the only guy besides Rudy to be carried off the field, but I was wondering what did he do to get carried off the field?

Do authograph sessions occur frequently on gameday weekends? I was just wondering because I've been out to several games already and never knew they existed. Then this year, I heard Rudy was signing at the the Purdue game and now Marc Edwards.

They usually have players signing autographs in the ACC about noonish. I got Allen Pinkett and Tony Rice to sign my tickets and my wife and I got pictures with them at the Purdue game.

Rudy was at the bookstore.
