I'm one guy who hopes Lienert leaves. Not to help ND next year, but my Cowboys!!! I'd package the two #1 picks the 'Boys have and grab Lienert. Wishful thinking on both fronts I guess.

Doesn't bother me, I want to beat USC with Carrol, and Chow. I want to beat them with Leinart as well.

USC has a system anyway, whoever steps in and plays QB for them will do well.

There is a reason it has not been done before. He will stumble. He has about as muchchance at breaking that record as a basebll team coming back from three games down to win a four game series.Impossible!
Seriously though don't throw in the towel just yet!We will take USC down :starwars:

I hope so...at least we'll give them a run for their money.

But even if Leinart stumbles; I think Reggie Bush, LenDale White, & Steve Smith will have something to say about a third Trojan title. And that's not even talking about Caroll & Chow. I'm thinking USC versus either Texas or Michigan in the Rose Bowl.

Norm Chow leaving USC would be the best thing. Though L is good, it is Chow's system that made him as well as USC winners. With L and no Chow, they go 9-2.

mt best friend is a die-hard USC fan and we talk quite a bit about the reasons for USC's success. we consider leinart to be a "systems guy," like wuerffel (sp?) under spurrier or lefors under the petrinos. norm chow has his system, and it works, and it churns out quarterbacks with gaudy numbers. he did it at BYU with mcmahon, young, and detmer. he got (former new york giants great) phillip rivers started at NCstate; he's on it again at USC. quarterbacks become great based on chow's offensive genius.

without chow, USC's offense will begin to falter, as there is not an apparent replacement for a guy with chow's planning skills and ability to adjust, especially this late in the job-searching season. the trojan defense will win them a lot of games, and their offense has too much raw talent to lose consistently, but chow is a vital organ in the being of USC football. just like any other top-shelf program, they'll come back to earth without chow and put up 8 to 10 win seasons in the pac-ten but they won't be as dominant as they are now. without chow they'll be in florida state land: consistently good recruiting based on "prestige of program," and a conference that they'll easily dominate (like FSU before the miami ACC), but they won't necessarily compete for the national title each year.

Well Said and also thats the way each team should be - i hate teams that just keep winning the NC every year it just becomes boring - i like a rotation of NCs i think that is better cause that way we rnt watching a rematch every year...btw for the next 3-5 years USC will win the Pac-10 cause it is very weak exceptions cal and ASU but obviously cal will go down to the bottom top 25 in 05 and ASU - well u saw what USC did to them in 04...do yall agree with me
