You know with Carufel, we would have 5 OL in this class... I wouldn't be suprised if Young would be slightly turned off by having a full line already recuited in one class. Not that he should worry about a little competition.

Great point. But Weis and Staff have said from the beginning they want six. Young is the guy they want more than anyone else to round out the six. They aren't really recruiting anyone else and I think he knows this.
Young can beat out Duncan for LeVoir's spot in 2006 or Turkovich for Harris' in 2007. I'm not sure Bartley Webb can overtake Duncan in 2006.

Florida currently has 4 olinemen committed, and some other highly touted linemen considering them. They'll probably end up with 5 or 6 as well, so that shouldn't be a factor. Turkovich, and Duncan are the only linemen we have to show from the last two recruiting classes. Plus Olsen may end up at DT, especially if we don't land Kates, or McCoy

10 days ago I would have bet he was Irish but now I am not so convinced. If he has not visited the school, and that appears to be the case with ND, I think it would be rare to commit. I am not saying it is not possible but I can't think of any other recruit of his status who has committed without visiting the school.jiggafini19 said:

We'll have to let this play out but if we find he has no plans to come to the campus I think Fla will get him.

Ya, If Young has showed no intrest in visiting the Campus, I see him having no intrest playing football here. I know that Weis was down their last week having dinner with him and the Family. No news on how that went?

Young has dropped to the 23rd overall player on rivals top 100. I guess since his stock is dropping they must feel he's an ND lean. Darrin Walls is now 51st from 28th. Olsen is no longer in the top 100. Rueland dropped a spot the day before he committed to ND, he doesn't drop if he commits to USC.
Rivals favors the state of florida, its sickening. Tom Lemming even mentioned recently that other recruiting sites have been dropping ND's recrutis, so even he has noticed.

Young and his family were on campus over the summer back in late June. It was during camp. Everyone in his family was very impressed. No official visit yet.
He is stressing his academics so much, I can't help but think that is what is swaying him towards ND. But Florida is a major threat right now. They seem to be getting everyone they want.

I still think it's premature to pencil any freshman in as a starter at OL next year. Duncan and Turkovich aren't chopped liver. But Young is still a big cog in this year's recruiting machine. I hope to land him. If not, this O-line class still stacks up very well. I'm more excited about Oglesby next year. And if given the choice this year, I'm more worried about McCoy on defense.

If that's truly the case, I hope that he read the numerous articles regarding graduation rates (w/ ND #2 at 96% behind Navy at 98%), or at least looked at the 'crib notes' version at BGS. Hopefully his reading stopped before he hit Florida at 80%....

They've started attacking juniors so hard, I think they're done either way. Carufel is in, plus two more. I doubt ND loses both Young and McCoy. They'll get one, if not both. Florida worries me and Poodle is desperate right now, so he'll do what he can to get McCoy.
