After the OSU game, I don't see the Team or coaches having much to be overconfident about.

I think MSU following GT, PSU, and UM is the landmine game, as usual. Emotional high for the grudge match with the wolverweasels and then the adrenlin drop for the Sparties.

Writers are making a bad assumption: that this team will come out 'waiting' to win. They'll seek it out.

This isn't Ty's team anymore.

Anyone who considers a season opener a "landmine game" for a Weis team should really just stop discussing football.

GT is not a land mind. CW is a master at prepping for a game he has had all summer to work on this one and will be just like the Pitt game. They will go on the road for the opener and take care of business.

MSU a let down...not going to happen...Purdue maybe because MSU will be a revenge game. They played badly and lost a game they shouldnt have and the MSU screwed themselves for the next several years by getting dumb after the game.

If that image on the bulletin board doesnt have this team ready to play then I do not know what will.

Road games against solid teams are the only games I'd really worry about. Michigan is good and that will be a good game, but I like being at home.

GT and MSU are tough games. Going on the road is tough.

Ga Tech is a tough team, playing at home, against a team anointed by a lot of the media as a NC contender. Similar to Auburn last year.

If Ball has a good game, it could be very difficult.

CW is definitely a master at preparation, but I think back to Stanford last year and OSU, and recognize that CW isn't infallible.

I am confident of a ND win, hopeful of one, but I would not be shocked if we struggle. I think I am coming down with Lou Holtz Disease.

I just read my Blue and Gold. I did not realize that Ball is a sub-50% passer and has thrown more INTs than TDs. In fact, he throws double-digit INTs every year.

I am a bit less worried after reading that.

Yet so far in his ND career Weis is unbeaten on the road (not counting bowls), and has two losses at home. Among the road wins were two against teams that were ranked at the time (one of whom turned out to be somewhat solid), while none of the home wins were against teams ranked at the time, and one of the home losses against a team ranked at the time who turned out to be quite less than solid.

I'd certainly like Weis to re-establish home dominance. I think it's incredibly important. But so far (albeit in a small sample size) Weis has seemed more than prepared for road games. I'm hopeful that Saturday a lot of fears will get put to rest.
