2007 seems so long ago, but what Brian Kelly has done is honestly truly remarkable. We were coming of 3-9, 7-6, and 6-6 seasons, and we just seemed hopeless and going down the wrong path. I was at the Tulsa game in 2010 and it was highly questionable if Brian Kelly was the man for the job at this point, falling to 3-5, not to mention a blowout loss to Navy. But as soon as Robert Blanton blocked the punt for a touchdown against Utah, the reign of dominance was beginning. Although a few games were blown in 2011, one could see the improvement from the Weis era teams. Finally, the Irish exceeded expectations this year, and kicked A$$ along the way. The transformation of Notre Dame the past 5-7 years has truly been stressful, sad, exciting, fun, terrible, depressing, and joyous to watch all at the same time. It seems as though we are ready for a fun ride.
So, for those of you looking to pass the time, watch these two highlight films side by side, and look at the difference. Truly remarkable how far this team has come.
