Hey guys new poster here. I was checking out irisheyes.com just now at work...did any of you happen to notice the top story on the left hand side titled "Stephens Runnning Wild". This kid is a junior running back who is getting early comparisons to some of the great texas high school runningbacks. Well, I do not have a subscription, so I do not know his level of interest in Notre Dame and anything else that may have been discussed in this article, but I can tell you that I live about 20 minutes from his high school (McAllen Memorial, about twenty miles from my hometown of Mercedes, located in the absolute southern tip of texas, right next to the border) and I have heard about him. I knew that he was getting some national recruiting attention, but was still surprised to see him on the scout front page, we dont have much D1 prospects in this area, the last ones were probably Earvin Taylor (jr at texas a&m) and brother Jamaar (nd transfer after freshman year I believe, currently with the new york football giants) Anyway the local newspaper put out some stats from the area schools about a week ago, if I remember correctly he was averaging approximately 11 to 12 yards a carry, second in the area to a speedy little sophomore who I have been following closely (by the way that super sophomore is averaging 14 yards a carry, Mishak Rivas, remember the name). I remember one week, i believe week two, Bradley Stephens had 7 carries for 252 yards (do the math) he didn't play beyond halftime and actually only one of those carries came in the second quarter (first quarter 6 carries, 156 yards). Pretty good huh? Now I must say that some of these numbers can be attributed to the lack of talent in the area, but still, averaging 36 yards a carry is good, damn good. Anyway i just thought I would give you all a heads up on this guy, especially for those that do not have a subscription. I'll keep my ear out, see if i can hear anything else that may be of interest, i.e. academics, college of interests, etc. Hopefully I can make it out to a game, i've yet to see him but even if i dont i'll keep you guys up to date on his stats if you all care to know. Go Irish. Keep those recruits coming. God bless guys

I have heard that Weis and the ND coaching staff is sending him 3-4 letters daily so I would assume he is interested. He could turn out to be our #1 RB prospect next year for ND. Along with him Jimmy Clauson(QB from SoCal) we could have a great class next year along with this year.

Stephens is rated the #7 junior in the nation and the top running back according the the Sporting News Student Sports High School Yearbook.

The #2 kid behind Clausen is Ryan Mallett of Texarkana, TX. 6-6 225 QB...6-6 225 JUNIOR!!! He'll be as big as Culpepper...

I'll bet Mack Brown and Bob Stoops will have a big p*ssing contest over this guy. Maybe A & M will get into the mix. Should be interesting.

Mallet. He's huge. I can't imagine any of those schools letting him get up to Ann Arbor.

If he's considering UM, say no more.

He must have bad grades.
