Came across this article on Josh Oglesby this morning: http://story.scout.com/az?s=193&p=2&c=524300.

Talk about playing it coy! If you read each assessment separately, it looks like he is leaning toward a committment to that particular school. I thought that his weekly chats with Coach Weis had given Notre Dame an edge. But after reading this article, it seems like our chances are 20%. The comment that he felt most comfortable at Wisconsin and subsequent comments from parents and athlete indicate that "comfort" is his primary consideration. Anyone have any thoughts about this 6'8" 305 lb. monster. I had already penciled him in opposite Sam Young as the primary JC "protectors." I thought I read that Saint Francis was one of Coach Weis's stops on his "Magical May Mstery Tour?" Does anyone have any information as to whether he has already visited, is planning to visit, or he won't be visiting this "blue-chipper?"

He might not be able to see over them.

Two bookend tackles of that size would be crazy.

I went back and re-read the article. Of course, you don't have the benefit of observing facial expressions and vocal inflections to go along with the words. Again, based strickly upon what was written; I would gladly put up a stake for this young man in a Texas hold'um tournament!
While I like Ryan Miller a lot, especially after his performance at the recent Nike Combine, Oglesby would be my top OL choice.

I have subsequently learned that Coach Weis and Coach Ianello visited with him on Monday at St. Francis.

The article was dated April 25. In it, he mentions that FSU visited his school on Tuesday, but made no mention of Notre Dame's Monday visit?

He also stated that I really like Ohio State. They hve been their from the beginning. They and Michigan were the first schools to come in." I had been under the impression that Notre Dame was involved early and that he had established a personal relationship with Coach Weis of calling each Friday. I'm assuming that practice still continues and got the impression that Oglesby made the calls, not the other way around.

One thing that WAS encouraging was a statement near the end of the article in which he indicates, "The main driving force for me is the ability of my position coach to be a great teacher as well as my coach. Everyone dreams of making it to the next level, but in order to do that you need a great coach teaching you on-field and off-field stuff as well."

On another subject [one that I save been pursuing with a furvor that some friends have labelled a crusade :eek:grin:] I know that Notre Dame offered Chris Galippo a scholarship. After he committed early to USC, is that scholarship withdrawn or is it still on the table?

“Sometime around the middle of June, just me and my mom will come down, talk to some of the players and see what they have to say,

Demetrius Jones-style. The good thing is that moms love Notre Dame. I guaruntee you Josh will feel some pressure to go there from his family.

Since I live 45 min. away from Milwaukee, I might have to go see this guy play this season and see how great he really is. I would love to see a Park High (John Clay) vs. St. Francis game but I don't think that would happen untill the state playoffs.
Any word on how his trip to Madison was this past weekend?
