Peter Gammons from espn is saying that the prospects they got were not even close to the talent of what the yankees and that other team were offering.
ND=NC it doesn't help the tribe. It helps my TIGERS alot though. :rotflmao:

Hahaha WOW!! Talk about the biggest steal ever in baseball. The best pitcher since '03 for 4 prospects, with only Gomez really being anything that you could get excited about. Two pitchers with only 2 years in the minors and one with three years......quite a ways from being big league ready. In addition, Gomez won't see the field till atleast 2010, maybe a cup of coffee in Sept of 09.

I've gotta say, as a Sox fan, this is a scenerio that I am happy to see. Santana out of the AL and most importantly not in that other NY stadium. They only way we'll have to worry about Santana now is in a World Series and we all know how amazing the Mets are when the season begins to wind down. (Just kidding Mets fans)

I just can't get over the fact that the Twins lost out on three MUCH MUCH better deals for Johan all because they thought they could force the Sox and Yanks into a bidding war. Talking about your all time backfires. I am sure the Twins would much rather have one of the three deals the Sox and Yanks had on the table early.

I knew waiting would end up screwing the Twins here. Both the Sox and Yanks did not NEED Johan but rather would have liked to add him to their already dangerous teams, they grew tired of the game the Twins played and ended up pulling their youngsters that they realized they were just fine with. Gotta say, its a changing of the tides here, the Sox and Yanks both go with the young farmsters rather than going after the big time guy....gotta love baseball.

That was a great deal for the Mets. That will give them a real shot at the WS with their starting rotation.

Not a happy Twins fan--maybe it's time to go through a down cycle again and start developing prospects. they're good at that for a small market team--I just wish they could have had Hunter and Santana and other quality players when their new stadium opened in a year or two.

This is the best trade that could of happened to anybody in contention in the American League ( unless of course your team got him ). I am sure there are a lot of American League hitters glad that he went to the Mets. Wow usually Minnestoa is better deal makers than this!
