ND has got to offer this kid NOW. I'm a huge college football fan, ND of course, and I've been watching this kid for 4 years now. He is simply the best athlete to come out of the Lehigh Valley, EVER. He was FIRST TEAM DEFENSE at the Jr combine in TX, sponsored by the U.S Army, this past year. The only all-state selection on defense as a Soph, and again as Jr. What in the hell does the recruiting staff want?
Combine that with straight A's and an attitude that can't be beat. Humble, polite, no ego, and team player, this kid has it all. ND is his first and only choice.
What really bothers me is the size issue some claim is a concern. Yeah, he's not that big RIGHT NOW. At about 5'11'' to 6' and 165-170, he's not huge, but he's also not small. Hey, how big is Gray from S.C? Look at this kid's genes. If you knew his family and his Uncle's, size WILL NOT BE AN ISSUE in a matter of months. The right lifting plan and diet, this kid will be a beast. He hasn't had a lot of time to work out, he plays sports year round. He started varsity baseball as a 9th grader and played varsity basketball as a 9th grader - unheard of at this school and it's conference. Add to that first team Defense as a Freshman. Let him train and concentrate on one sport for a year and watch what happens.
If ND loses this kid because they think they have something better, it's a very, very big mistake. ND's corners and defensive backfield have been among the worst, if not the worst, in bigtime football as of late. If not at ND, trust me, he's gonna go where it's warm, and faster, like the SEC, and if he can play there, believe me, he can play in South Bend.
Did I mention this kid catches a ball better than anyone I've ever seen in high school ball? I honestly think it might be his best position. He's good enought to play WR at any school. I just don't want to see this kid slip away.
