Cumbie is supposed to make his choice this week. Last word was he would announce between Notre Dame and Clemson after Memorial Day in early June.

Cumbie is rated the best prospect in Illinois in some rankings. Morris, IL is traditionally a very good team, but Cumbie just moved here from South Carolina a couple of years ago. He is a lifelong Clemson fan and Tommy Bowden has been after him pretty hard.

Does anyone have any current news within the last couple of weeks on what the latest news is? To this point, Weis has gotten his man every time. I have been hearing things in the local grapevine that Illinois is making a late push, but it is coming down to ND or Clemson regardless.

Anyone got any new dirt?

Nothing new yet, he says he's torn between the two. Some believe he may choose to enter the basball draft, and not even play football.

Morris is a baseball/football perennial. No surprise here that he's blossomed in both sports since moving here.

I guess if he projects to go high enough he could get some good bonus cash. ND and Clemson both have pretty good baseball programs. I would imagine ND would let him do both?

His parents are within 2-3 hours of South Bend....just a thought.
