The hubris of ND fans is beyond belief. Urban told you no once, thats right...he said NO THANKS!! He is about to win another National Championship in Florida...to think you can cherry pick your coaches when ever you get tired of the one you want is beyond belief

I dont know where you have been but we have not cherry picked a coach in awhile. As a matter of fact, we were a punchline the last time we hired one.

Oh really....you "named" Urban Meyer your replacement for Ty...who was given the shaft in the first place...After Urban said no thanks you plucked CW from the New England Patriots...if thats not Cherry Picking nothing is. ND thinks they can simply "name" their next coach and he will automatically accept....not any more...

Anyone who believes Meyer is even considering this job is on some crazy drugs. Why would he leave Florida for ND?

WOW, how quickly things change! Last year Urban was the Anti-Christ for stealing our recruits, and now most people want him as our next coach. He will never come to ND.

OK kid, I think the clearasil has affected your brain. I call "cherry plucking" getting any coach you want. I think Ty got the shaft. He got rail roaded when Urban became available. Weis was not a second choice if memory serves me correctly. I have said many times on here that finding a coach to come here and accept the pressure is going to be hard. It is suicide for an up and comer and any successful coach is likely happy where he is. Your post above basicly agrees with my view. In the words of another member go back to the gator board.

Clearasil?? First of all...Urban was always"available", as are most coaches who have a clause in their contract to leave for a better program. Pressure?? pressure to win a few games and win a bowl game for a change? Please!! and also..what makes you think I'm a Gator fan...thats quite an assumption..I'm a college football fan first, actually am a USC fan. Was always a ND fan growing up because they were always respected.

USC fan, Florida fan? Was a Notre Dame fan? You say USC fan. Ok, why are you contributing to this board? I have heard it all now. I "was" a Notre Dame now I am a USC fan. I think you were correct in saying you are a college football fan and just stick with that.

Growing up in a very Catholic family...it was all that I was exposed to. Back then, ND was the best team, and program around. Growing up I was able to form my own opinions as to what team to route for. As for contributing to this board, I didn't realize it was necessary to agree with every lemming that believes what your are posting. ND is not very good, and has been that way for a very long time. I don't have the answer, but at least I can provide an opinion...just my 2 cents...

All I asked for was a reason why you were posting here. You gave one. A good one I think. I was just gathering information. I think you're welcome here. Sham I thought bandwagoner myself, but I can see now after his explanation. I know several that I grew up with in a parochial system that were Irish fans. When they got older they (early eighties) they started rooting for Georgia, Penn St. and even BYU. Then they came back for awhile then left again. It is hard to support a below average team.

No its not. Its TAXING, but its not difficult to support something you love, no matter how bad things are. If you bail, if you go support a team thats winning, that makes you a bandwagoner . I know, I've sat through Faust, Davie, Ty and now this.... Oh, and 15 years of horrible Colts football, too (at least that one is finally paying off ;)

I know about supporting a below average team. As a Bills fan I don't have to tell you what I've been through over the years...I support teams for various reasons, winning is not one of them, so this hardly qualifies me as a bandwagoner. I had 4 years of straight SuperBowl losses, painful. Still stings...but I still support them. I follow USC because I live out here now...they just happen to be good.

You know its kind of funny. I started with the Irish in 71. I was nine years old. In 73 they could not be stopped, same way with 77. I honestly dont remember the bad years. I dont even remember what we did in the late nineties. I just remember the good games (and years) I guess. I was not or ever have been a fan of any other team. I have stayed thru thick and thin and always could find a silver lining. I know lots of folks that follow a team that is on top and then they move on. Hell, even the Cowboys have been in a slump. (not a fan so I dont care). I was raised a Catholic and recall back then every kid playing football dreamed of going to ND. I made a comment earlier that some of those kids may not want or care enough about playing for the Irish so it reflects on the field. No pride. I cant recall a more talented dysfunctional team than this one though. If we start winning again this years team will all be a foggy memory.

I've been a fan of the same teams in each sport since childhood. While Notre Dame football is, by far, my most ardent passion, I am also avid about other sports.

Some of my other favorites include the Pittsburgh Pirates and Milwaukee Bucks.

Browns & Indians here. In regards to college football it's always ND #1,then Ohio State and then whoever is playing the Skunkbears.

I think maybe it's time to start following soccer

Irish, Broncos, Avalanche and the Wyoming Cowboys...I'm pretty sure that I have all of you beat for futility...except for the win tonight.
