Anyone watch this show (probably dumb..cause you all probably do)? But I really enjoy watching it now...without Weis there.
Hosted by Jack Nolan its very insightful and encouraging. They usually play it Tuesday after the games on WHT or the 600 channels on Direct Tv.
This last one was really great. Kelly took a lot of the blame and the best part was there was a whole behind the scenes look before/after the Purdue game and it was wonderful!
I loved the part where the players made Kelly lead them in the Fight Song and he was like "You guys start it" and than they managed to wrestle him onto a chair and they sang it. Really great to see that they feel comfortable enough around the guy to mess with him like that.

I've noticed that there's been a TON of access to the day to day life at ND under Kelly.

The athlete in me hates it, but the fan in me loves it.

haha, I don't know...definitely a little jealousy in there.

But seriously, I watched the cameras follow them to their hotel, to their training table, to practice, to the locker room...it just seems like some things shouldn't be for public consumption.

Thats interesting that you say that because I would of the programs that you saw the most off field coverage on in the past 5-10 years was USC. (espn extra programs and all that crap) Pete carrol having fun with his guys and really an inside look of how he ran his program on a day to day basis. Now I know the trojans are kicking themselves right now. I am a believer that if your a high school kid and getting recruited by a program where you can get some inside looks and see those guys having fun with their coaches and able to joke around a lil bit, it helps recruiting. You have to remember these are 18-22 year old KIDS...... I know we dont talk about them like that but thats what they are. I love the inside stuff and at a place like ND when you have kids are educated and smart young men I dont think you have a whole lot to worry about as far as it really hurting them.

Totally agree with this. I don't see at all where it could hurt the program.
I remember seeing the USC crap mentioned and I actually respected Carrol for his leadership/personal 'care' for the players and in a way jealous that our coach was leagues from being anywhere near that.
So I think for a young kid to see the chemistry, personal coach, the fun the players have, the energy that happens behind the scenes is really important for them.

...and of course I just LOOOVEEEE to see it! I can't get enough!

Absolutely no doubt that its great for the program. Gets the fans involved, you can show it to the recruits, etc etc... And I'm not worried that any Notre Dame player is going to make an *** of the program like the Jets' players.

And also, I'm not saying it would be a big deal...it would even be kind of cool. And if I'm a GM in the NFL and I have to choose between two otherwise equal players, one from ND and one from Cinci, I will pick the ND kid because he's used to dealing with the media.

But all of that being said, imagine if someone was filming a show in your office or your house. No matter how hard you try to ignore the cameras, they end up changing the dynamic. As a player, I liked it best when the locker room was a sanctuary. I'm sure it still is 95% of the time for the guys at ND, but if I was there I would get tired of the 5% that it wasn't.
