LSU could fall between ND and oregon in the harris and coaches poll. Thus ND would be 5 and oregon 7 after the day. This could be just enough to push us above oregon in the bcs- just so they have less to bitch about. Also their computer rankings will go down a bit with fresno losing. So yeah, that would be fun.

No it won't. We are already a lock for the BCS. And we could stumble into a lock situation for ourselves.

The BCS is a travesty in my opinion. FSU lost all their games in November and still are going to end up in a BCS game? One win=all the glory. At least ND is 9-2. All in favor of a playoff system say Aye.

AYE!

Notre Dame will probably be ranked 5th behind PSU and OSU. I think this will make us a lock.

Here is where it can get sticky. How far do these teams fall in the human polls knowing that there is a LOT of money on the table? Since the computer polls already disfavor ND, it people don't vote true it could spell some trouble.

Not that I like the BCS much either.

What do you think is the best option then. At least with a playoff, the national champion will have deserved it. I think the best option would be to have the top 16 play it out according to the BCS. Some will argue that teams will be left out of it. The likelihood of a team with more than 2 losses winning the championship is very low in my opinion. It probably wouldn't be like March Madness afterall...where upsets occur from the top 50 and above.

A playoff system in college football completely takes the magic out of the regular season. I love the fact that a team has to win EVERY game most years to contend for the national title. In a playoff system, some crappy team like FSU could win it all with a couple fluke victories in the playoffs.

That being said, I don't like the BCS either, but I think that at the very least it makes all of the games exciting. The BCS is a pretty easy system to figure out - win all your games, and you get a title shot. (One exception in 8 years is not all that bad...)

How do you figure? If you used a hybrid system with the BCS along with a playoff, it could be a very nice system. Basicly, you use the BCS to rank the Top 8 or 16 teams, whatever number is decided, and then have a single elimination playoff based off of that.

Virginia Tech is the most overrated team I've seen in a while.

If Shockley is healthy, UGA might be unbeaten right now.
