I've been reading these boards for a long time, and now I'm ready to break my silence. One play saturday epitomized the entire season. The play that I'm referring to is the 4th and 2, at about the Syracuse 35 in the first half. Now I had no problem going for it, but who in the hell is calling these plays? In trots Schwapp and Aldridge for our short yardage package (WHAT A JOKE). TEN Syracuse players are on the line of scrimmage. We run the play any way and lose 2 yards. While I may be some idiot sitting on my couch , I sure as hell know that you can't block 10 players with 6. Wheres the freaking audible? Does Clausen suck so bad that Charlie doesn't allow him to change the play? My guess is that Weis still has that b.s. NFL mentality , that we need to out tough them in that situation. Situations like this have occurred all season ,and frankly they make me want to hurl. The playclling lacks any kind of imagination, and we are going nowhere with Weis!
I can't describe how empty and deceived that I felt Saturday night, because I finally came to the realization that the last 4 years have gotten us nowhere. Watch one of the top 5 teams any weekend, and ask yourself how the Irish would fare against that team. Yes we would be destroyed. Weis sold us a bill of goods , and we were more than happy to hail him as the next coaching legend. This guy is a fraud, and we need to stop the bleeding as soon as we can.
