Someone on here was talking about how the media would be jumping on the bandwagon soon. I just read this...I swear I almost spewed my coke all over the screen.

Didnt they cancel College Game Day last year when they were doing it at a Notre Dame game?

GameDay has Irish eyes

ESPN's popular College GameDay show will kick off its 19th season Sept. 3 at Pittsburgh, site of ND's first game under head coach Charlie Weis. The show -- featuring Chris Fowler, Lee Corso and Kirk Herbstreit -- will run from 9:30-11 a.m. (South Bend time). ND meets Pitt later that night at 7 on ABC-TV.

Both Corso and Herbstreit :jerkit:

Boise State is playing at Georgia the same day. They choose Pitt and ND.

Surely, they're catering to the national following that is ND Nation.

I like GameDay. Does anyone find those three to be anti ND? I don't really see it too much. I know that they're HONEST about ND, but I don't consider them haters.

I dont really think they are haters. I actually like GameDay also. Corso cracks me up sometimes. Herbstreit is a Buckeye so I can't really bring myself to like him.

To be honest maybe I shouldn't be so shocked they are coming to Pitt if that is the only other game that day.

Well if you are talking about last years performance they have to be chasing the national hype. Because ND and PITT last year in no way is a better match up than UGA and Boise.

ND was .500 and Pitt wasnt exactly the greatest team, but UGA was in the top ten and Boise was undefeated. Based on last years results you would think that they would be going to that game. I think they put their foot in their mouth and are trying to jump ship on the ND band wagon.

Yeah right when ND starts winning ESPN will be all over them. Doing stories on them and always being there. You watch and see.

They get a story either way. If ND wins, it is going to sell magazines, have viewer tune in, etc.

If they lose, the school again looks foolish for firing the last coach and hiring the new one.

With ND, the media can't lose.

Not being an E$PN apologist, but they have been there with ND throughout, meaning that were doing "The Season", when we were not exactly highly regarded. Now that's TOTALLY different from some bloviaters that they employ that I will love to see eat crow this year and the next.......and the next.......and the next.......and the next.......and the next.......(namely, TrevA, MMay, Gottfried, Wilbon, Lupica, Lebetard, Marriotti, Korneyheisel)

I think Herbstreit doesn't like Notre Dame, but it seems like he doesn't let that bias the way he covers the team, so I can deal w/ him. Corso I think would be the first to jump on the bandwagon once they start winning.

I like the show. Corso is pretty funny, and all three of them have I think pretty good opinions most of the time.

It's a great show. Quite frankly, there hasn't been a lot of positive things to say about ND football whether you're biased or not. There have been a lot of other teams and stories for them to talk about.

I think Corso respects Notre Dame a great deal as a former coach from Navy and IU. As for Herbstreit, if he doesn't like ND he is very professional about it. I think he keeps his Ohio State profile pretty low, too. He's quick to praise but quick to critique as well. Jay Bilas does a better job with Duke Basketball, but Herbstreit is pretty good.

A little honesty never hurt anyone. As a fan, I can honestly say....nothing. I haven't had a reason to talk in a long time. Just "being" Notre Dame doesn't cut it anymore. Tradition doesn't graduate, but you can't just live off of it. The objective is to add to the legacy with each year, each class. They have the person in place to begin doing this again.

love the show and watch it religiously.. I do like Corso..and kirk is starting to grow on me( to bad he once was a bucknut )..I do see Corso jumpin on the Notre Dame bus once he sees what CW has done with us.. It is a win lose situation with our program..being correct in saying that when we start winning football games hell yeah everybaody at ESPN is going to start the praiseing again on Notre Dame, however, if we lose the Pitt game you can bet that the talk will start flowing..yes even after the first game of the year..on the "tarnished dome...the wrongful firing of whats' his name..." I dont know if it's just me but this coach will settle for nothing less than winning football games..he knows what it takes to get to that elite level..and as much as people hate to believe that...heh heh heh it is inevitable!! GO IRISH

Will the Pitt game be a national or a regional game? I don't want to watch the A&M Aggies!!!

Please let me know, Thanks.

Yes it is a national game. It will be the ABC night game. Any time ABC gets a ND game it is always national.

Both of those games are slated for ABC at the same time. They're really going to show ND and Pitt down in Texas?

If I were a cop down there, I'd have the riot gear ready if they intend on blocking out an Aggie game in Texas.

actually, i think Corso will be one of the last to jump on the bandwagon...remember in 2003 when he picked us to lose to both FSU and Air Force and only then started to pick us to win? He was the last one on before Dillingham handed Boston College the win in game 9.

there is absolutely no way that the A&M/Clemson game will not be on TV in Texas and South Carolina

Yes but of course regional games can override the national games in that particular region. When a game is national it just means that the game will be showed for the most part accross the country, but like I said the regional broadcasting of a local team may override the national game.

I remember when I lived in San Diego the regional game was always SDSU and whatever team they were playing, so instead of being able to watch Florida and Tennessee like I wanted to I would have to watch SDSU versus whomever they would be playing, the same thing happens for NFL games, regional games are sometimes showed instead of the nationally televised games.

I didn't say it would show in Aggie country I simply said it would be nationally televised, that is all.
