Has he even come close to throwing a pick? That one drop by the Michigan player yesterday was Floyd's fault.

I like their projections. 42TDs and no INTs. And almost 4000 yards.

And people (ND fans!!!!) are still talking crap about him. Imagine when he throws his first pick??? I honestly think that some people's heads might actually explode...

Now thats seriously messed up. Kid has done nothing but game, and practically perfect at that. Now if only he could catch his own passes, or maybe play 2 way and get up on that Dline. We might actually have someone to rival the venerable Tim Tebow.

People keep saying his deep balls are just waiting to be picked off. No team in the country (or atleast no team on our schedule) has 2 corners that match up with Tate and Floyd. Maybe once in a while one of his deep balls will get picked but a lot of ppl here make it seem like theyre holding their breaths whenever we throw it downfield.

i have read that a few times and can honestly say that the entire game i was confident that Clausen would make things happen. There was one drive when we had a holding call on first down followed immediatly by a delay of game and i thought we blew a possesion the next play Clausen threw a rope to Floyd for 30 yards. I can't wait to see what he does against MSU

Those deep balls are thrown 2 ways-one is the jump ball that either one of these studs can go get the other is the lead out timing throw, pick your poison he throws both very very well. What is really a sight to see is the outs and burners he throws that these guys hang on to. Like I said over the summer O line O line Oline, protect him run it well when you have to and they will light it up. This mich game would have been a route if the D would have played better. When that happens (and it will) they are going to be very tough. This line is one of the best in the country. My only concren about mich st is that they will try to push us around because they are used to doing that. This Notre Dame team is different than what they have seen but you still have show 'em. Trust me they are going to try and bully- it will be interesting to see how pissed off Notre Dame is after letting one get away.

I feel like they already have their finalists, just like when Brady Quinn was throwing up ridiculous stats. No doubt he should have at least been invited to NY, but they knew who they wanted there at the beginning of the year. If they only take three people, I doubt Jimmy will be there, no matter how outstanding his numbers are.

Alright I am taking this a step further. They should either not make a Heisman watch this early in the season or only put the kids who are playing real teams on there. Tim Tebow put up great numbers against Charleston Southern and Troy. Charleston Southern is a 1-AA team and Troy is in the Sunbelt. Colt McCoy put up great stats against Louisiana-Monroe and Wyoming, hell at least they are both 1-A teams. Jahvid Best puts up his stats against Maryland and Eastern Washington (1-AA). Max Hall played two decent teams in OU and Tulane, both 1-A teams, however, have you seen his stats? Not that great. Darryl Clark and Dez Bryant played against two 1-A teams, good for him.

I honestly think a player's stats against 1-AA (FCS) teams should not count. It is ridiculous, almost like a Varsity High School team playing against a JV team. If it were like this, the stats for those players would be:

Tim Tebow: 15-24 (62.5%), 237yds (9.9ypa), 5 TD, 0 INTS, 200.45 rating, 71 rushing yards on 13 attempts, 1 TD
Avg per game: 237 ypg passing, 5 TDs, 0 Ints, 71 ypg rushing, 1TD

Colt McCoy: 51 - 76 (67.1%), 654yds (8.61ypa), 5 TD, 2 INT, 155.83rating.
Avg. per game: 327 ypg passing, 2.5 TD, 1 INT

Jahvid Best: 10 rushes, 137yds (13.7ypa), 2TD, 2 rec, 23yds.
Avg per game: 10 rushes, 137yds, 13.7 ypa, 2 TD, 2 rec, 23 yds.

Max Hall: 50 - 70 (71.4%), 638yds (9.11ypa), 4 TDs, 3 Ints, rating: 158.27.
Avg per game: 319 ypg, 2 TDs, 1.5 Int.

Darryl Clark: 49 - 71 (69.0%), 593yds (8.35ypa), 6 TD, 2 INT
Avg per game: 296.5 ypg, 3 TD, 1 INT

Jimmy Clausen: 40 - 60 (66.6%), 651yds (10.85ypa), 7TD, 0 INT, 196.31 rating.
Avg per game: 325.5 ypg, 3.5 TD, 0INT

Dez Bryant: 8rec, 168yds, 20.3avg, 2 TD. 1 PR TD.
Avg per game: 4 rec, 84yds, 1 TD, .5 PR TD

Mike Floyd: 11rec, 320yds, 29.1avg, 4 TD
Avg per game: 5.5rec, 160yds, 2 TD.

I put Floyd on there to show his outrageous numbers. Looking at this, the only ones that should be above Jimmy are Tim Tebow and maybe Darryl Clark. Jahvid Best's numbers don't wow me. I honestly don't believe that Dez Bryant should be higher than Floyd who isn't even on there.

Excellent point, I forgot he was injured. I guess it will be a dogfight to see who gets that spot, perhaps Bradford himself will come back and grab it. I just hope whoever gets it (ND or not) deserves it.

I believe that is true about who they want, That has worked in our favor before however, so it is difficult to complain. Clausen has put up good numbers. Granted, Nevada is certainly not known as a powerhouse in the furthest stretch, but imagine the numbers he would have right now if we had played Charleston Southern, Troy, Louisiana Monroe, Akron, or Eastern Washington. Talk about stat enhancers.

Floyd is averaging only 8 yards fewer a game (160) than Bryant has todal for the year (168). He also has more TDs, so yeah, I don't get it either.

I don't think Tebow or Clark should be ahead of Jimmy either because look they just plain and simply played stat padding teams? I think I could have thrown a couple of TDs against Charleston Southern.

Teams that play these IAA weak teams should be penalized in some sort of manor. It is absolutely ridiculous, how can Florida or any of these other schools look at themselves in the mirror after they play these teams?

After seeing Clausen's 2 performances- 1 being against a good defense IMO...I'd have to say hes right up there in the Heisman. Imagine his #'s if there weren't some of those drops... Throw Floyd in there also, what the heck.

I wasn't that impressed by his TD catch, the Punt return was impressive though. But to have half the numbers as Floyd plus a punt return doesn't mean he should be higher.

Clausen isn't even mentioned in the guy from SI's Heisman list. And says Floyd is one of a possible half dozen that could fill the #10 spot. Aside from the loss, and not fluffing stats against D1AA teams, there is no reason to not include Clausen on that list. That is irritating. I hope it stokes a fire in Clausen to absolutely go and light up the rest of the teams ND plays this year.

I counted the punt return in his TD total and he's still one shy of Floyd. Oh, and did you see Floyd's TD catch against Michigan? He has some serious hops.

How can a respectable voter even give cred to stats against Charleston Sou., Troy, and Florida Int., - would anyone complain if those were even discounted. Well, other than Gainesville and those guys playing Temple, Louisiana-Monroe, Citedel........

I like their projections. 42TDs and no INTs. And almost 4000 yards.

Their projections are based on his current averages. Last week they projected Floyd to catch 48 passes, get 2,300+ yards, and snag 36 TDs this season (4 catches, 189 yards, and 3 TDs, each individually multiplied by twelve). It's all based on averages.

Has he even come close to throwing a pick? That one drop by the Michigan player yesterday was Floyd's fault.

That was all Jimmy. He rifled the ball before Floyd made his cut and before he turned his head around. Luckily Boubacar "I shoved Michael Floyd down on national television and I looked FLY" Cissoko is such a terrible cornerback.

bryant has punt returns going for him...and that crazy td catch against georgia

That is such an overhyped catch. It was #1 on the top 10 plays of week one on College Football Final...Michael Floyd's 88 yard catch and run didn't even crack the list. I've seriously seen better grabs in backyard games at family gatherings.

Jimmy is unreal. I seriously think he will throw fewer than five picks all season. If he throws for 4,000 yards (expect him to crack the 1,000 yard barrier following Saturday's game). If he doesn't go to New York with these numbers, then he never will.

Besides, the Heisman is a JOKE. How many Heisman winners have gone on to NFL success?

Ron Dayne? Bust.
Eric Crouch? Massive bust.
Jason White? Bust.
Matt Lienart? EPIC FAIL.
Reggie Bush? Overrated.
Tim Tebow? Destined for failure.

The Heisman has a recurring theme: the winner is always on a loaded team. Always. Have you ever seen Sam Bradford throw? His throwing motion is ugly and he has a disgusting release.

Oh, by the way, Tommy Rees will be Notre Dame's ninth Heisman winner in 2013. Book it.

Clausen has played great in the 2 games this year. I still think that it is to early in the season and ND is going to have to get some key wins. I am going to take it a step further and hope that he stays at ND for his senior season.

He will be at ND for his Senior season! He has to win a NC and the Heisman before he goes, then hand the reins to Crist for a second consecutive title with Crist finishing 3rd in the Heisman voting.

Heisman to bust ratio is pretty high.. Countless Heisman dumps. But if I am an NFL team, I draft Tebow to play somewhere, TE something. The guy is a competitor and a leader.

Did Eddie George do a whole lot in the NFL? I am kind of young and didn't really follow the NFL until a couple of years ago. I still think Ricky Williams is a bust though. He produced more problems than he solved in my opinion.
