I'm not big into betting but I do enjoy dabbling a little cash on college football. For shits and giggles, I put $40 on CJ Carr for Heisman when he was @ +900.

Because I love Notre Dame football. .

This is a Heisman bet thread. I would say the last two qb's who went to Ibdiana did pretty well. Carr and several others had already been mentioned and discussed.
Your constant Indiana drivel is nauseating. I can’t stand “fans” like you with divided loyalties.

Help me understand, but exactly where is Ibdiana? Are they in the European football leagues somewhere?

Love Fresno State to win Pac 12- I'm on that one too but only got it at +700 odds. Other conference futures I'm on:

1. Oregon to win Big 10 +260
2. Memphis to win AAC +600
3. Louisville to win ACC +780
4. LSU to win SEC +850
5. Oklahoma State to win Big 12 +3000

EDIT: Added New Mexico to win MWC +265 (Eck is the real deal and this will be his last year at UNM before he takes the Wisconsin job)

Were you not just criticizing someone else for divided loyalty? And now you're betting on other teams?

Just money, so I'm sure it's fine.

You can't be serious dude... Sea Turtle has been glazing Indiana at every opportunity since I've been on this site, which is a world of difference from me giving betting advice that involves other teams. His speculation re: Hoover for Heisman was only the tip of the iceberg.

I don't follow him or you-just taking your comments at face value. You being an ass, followed by a double standard post, was my thought. Done thinking about it.

A new episode of VSiN's College Football Betting Podcast just aired on Monday. The host (ND fan Tim Murray) and his guest (Dustin Swedelson) discussed their Heisman bets and gave some picks out.

Swedelson: Mensah, Mestemaker, and Bachmeier (also said he'll probably be on Carr, Mateer, Kienholz, Leavitt, and JKS)
Murray: Dampier and Kienholz (also said he'll probably be on Avery Johnson and Jennings)

I think the biggest things stopping Carr from winning the Heisman this year will be:
1A) He won't be playing deep into games racking up stats/we will be managing games a lot and not letting him sling it.
1B) A Chambliss/Manning go undefeated and just get more hype/coverage.

Mendoza was 55th in the country in Yards/Game, he just had the TDs statistically as they definitely were self aware in that regard to Heisman campaign. Could literally come down to RZ play calls juicing another 5 - 10 TDs.

The only reason Mendoza won last year was because Love didn't get enough touches.

Yeah they discussed this at the start of the episode. Their counterpoints to that were that Carr is the QB of such a visible brand name team, he's got the tools to shine, ND's offense will feature the passing game more this year, and the schedule is weak.

Personally, I don't think either Ole Miss or Texas are going undefeated. Look at Texas's schedule in particular... They could lose 4 games.

I'm probably oversimplying things here, but if ND is undefeated and ranked #1, Carr improves on last year's stats and plays well in their 3 big games, I think he wins it.

FD posted some season passing props:

Carr - 2875.5 yards

Higher than everyone besides Mestemaker and Maiava

If Carr's stats aren't other worldly because he's only playing 3 quarters because ND is clobbering teams, I don't think it's going to hurt him. Mendoza didn't have crazy stats either. And I think they are going to have CJ slinging it all over the field this year.
