Notre Dame beats Penn State 41-17. The Irish steamrolled Penn State today with 82,000+ anxious fans. I personally think the Irish need to improve on the defensive line though. They didnt get much pressure on morelli today. Where is the Irish pass rush and where is the Irish rush defense? Sure they only gave up 17 points but it could have been more had Penn State not botched the snap and fumbled on that nice drive. Should have been more like 41-27 maybe? I am also concerned with the offensive line as well. Penn State rushed 3 most of the game and still got pressure on Brady Quinn. The rush defense MUST improve and the offensive line play MUST improve if we are going to beat Michigan next saturday. Michigan has shown that they can run the football and run it well. (of course they havent played anybody) but there is still room for improvement on both sides of the ball. I think if we improve on mental mistakes (penalties), and find our rush defense and our offensive line improves we will beat michigan 31-24. If we dont then (I'm being realistic here because this is always a close game) we may have a long game. The Irish need to be almost perfect to beat the wolverines on saturday and I think Charlie Weis will have his troops ready. Gooooooooooooooo Irish.....Beeaaaaat Michigan!
