Since it's know the "off season", I'd like everyone to chime in with what was their favorite game.It can be one you saw on TV or was lucky enough to see in person.
One of my favorite other than any time the Irish whipped the Skunkbears, was the 1973 Sugar Bowl when the Irish nipped 'Bama 24-23. It was a game that just went back and forth. Ara's playcall of the pass to the TE Weber when ND was backed up on the goalline was just a beautiful call. What a game it was!
Maybe in the future CW will have one of those to hang his hat on!
GO IRISH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with kmoose. But, also like the USC game when ND won the Natl. Title in 88.Rodney Peete this Rodney Peete that. How about Peete gets planted on the sideline in the first quarter and is out the rest of the game as the Irish go on to win.

1992 Sugar Bowl. Everyone said that #18 ND had no business being in such a prestegious bowl, against the #3 Gators. Well, the lads showed 'em. This is, for me, the clearest modern day manifestation of the ND mystique.

YouTube - #18 Notre Dame vs. #3 Florida 1992 - Green Jerseys IV

Geez. Watched video. Then went out and ran head on into traffic. Damage me some cars. May have torn some cartilage. lol. Great video.

I don't need this stuff. Almost like watching porn. :)

Dayum. I'm fired up.

Funny how announcers tried at first to indicate ND did not deserve the invite, they were going to get blown out, and Fla was having such an easy time, then to hear their change of heart at the end was absolutely classic. Holtz getting fired up on the sidelines, pulling back the whoever the hell he was, and high fiving? Great video Kmoose. Thanks.

Aralou - wasn't '88 entirely magical? Ummm wait..... You are ugly.
(Need to quit agreeing with the dude...)

early nineties game at Tenn, Lou turned Bettis loose on the Vols, (they thought they would smoke us), also honorable mention when we went down to Texas- Rickie Williams at tailback and dominated them about the same time in early ninties.

'88 Miami
'89 USC

Both of these are in my top 5. Along with '93 against FSU and the Snow Bowl. '89 against Michigan at the Big House. Rocket taking two to the house!

Honorable mention would be '06 against UCLA and '05 against SC. Losing to SC hurt, but it was one of my most memorable games. The team looked as good against them as they have in a decade.

I have been blessed to see some great games in person at Notre Dame Stadium. I saw the last time the Canes came to South Bend, I believe it was 1991. I also saw the 05 game vs USC. Still a bitter feeling but what a great college football game.

Last night when I was looking up the records of the Holtz teams to find the Tenn and Texas games in the early and mid 90's it was unreal to be reminded of the difficult schedule and the excellence that Lous teams acheived, just look up the games ,scores, and overall record it will jump out at you, It was a reminder of how excellent Lou really was, it is worth taking a look at and I found it under past Notre Dame Football schedules.
