As one compares linebackers, its kinda a shine-on to nod to Manti in "pass coverage" and not relate the schematic impact, and give that huge weight.
The other thing we all know to be the case...speaking of Hype. The SEC gets some preferential treatment in terms of NFL ranking...and actually, that is reality and deserved when the conference perfroms as it does...but using that basis, rather deserved/earned or not is skewed in this application.
I'll put ND's Front 7 against anyone...and I'd pick ND's right now over Bama's. Not based on NFL projection of individuals, but based on the consistancy of performance of the entire Unit against an overall tougher schedule. If you look at the competition over the season "in the box" (which is where this thing will be won or lost), I think as a unit, Nd's body of work is better. I am anxious to see how they perform with Lacey and Yeldon. Nd has seen similar backs, but Lacey is stronger than all of them, and Yeldon Faster and more elusive. ...we'll see.
