First off I want to say I think ND played well enough to win the game. In fact I thought for sure you were going to win.
I see similarities between Brian Kelly and Rich Rod. Both came from the Big Least. Both are good coaches who have been succesful in the past. Both yell at players rather than encouraging them. It seems that the Big East does not know how to play defense as evident from last night and three years of RR at Michigan.
I know how you feel right now. A few years ago Michigan started 0-2 losing to a Div II team(app state) and oregon after huge expectations since we had all our stars coming back.
IMO you lost because of turnovers and a suspect defense. Mich dealt with that the last 3 years and it can be maddening. I am not sure you will get better in that respect. Also the fact that Denard is a game changer sealed your fate. It seemed like you played a break don't bend form of defense which was The Mich D the last 3 years.
I do think you need to give BK 5 years to let him do his thing and get his players before writing him off. I can say that the coaching carosel that is ND is not a good thing and contributes to your play the last 10 years. I am probably one of the few Michigan fans that think we should have kept RR for another 2 years before casting judgement. IMHO he did not get a fair shake at MI. He was playing true freshman and sophmores at d his whole time at michigan because of attrition plus Carr left the cupprd bare. Hoke will bring Michigan back and understands the culture. I am not sure if BK understand ND.
It is a tough pill to swallow but you still have a chance to have a good season.
