My Son is turning 14 this Saturday, so my little sister bought him (and HER not ME) tickets for the ND usc game. It's not his 1st ND game, as we bought him tickets when they were out here (Phoenix) for the Fiesta in '06, but he's never been to Notre Dame Stadium. My question is, what should they plan for Game Day? Where do they start? What would be the most benificial activity to view/participate in? Who knows when he may get to go to another ND Home game (before he playes for them in 4 years)!!!!! Thanks guy's. GO IRISH!!!

Everything in that link is good. I'd say for a 14 year old, he should definitely see the player walk from the basilica to the stadium, it is around 1:30, I'm sure there will be a crowd. Gotta get a picture in front of TD Jesus, the concert on the steps is cool, but he might want to just go into the stadium kinda early and see all the pregame stuff. And he's got to see the grotto, either before or after the game.

and make sure he wears green!

The Green - in the grounds south of Debartolo on Friday beginning at 3:00 - music with the Whistle Pigs followed by the 6:30 pep rally. Friday night (7:30) - I think the women have a soccer game and I know the men play West Virginia at 11:30 in soccer. On the way home Friday night stop at the Chipolte one block south of campus on Eddy Street. The Green is open with Bands and the Glee Club along with other activities. Above is a link to a slew of things to do gameday.

Oh, wearing the Green is a given!! Thanks for the info.

I was hoping for some personal choices, as you gave me. Thanks!! If you see him ( Frank), say hi. He'll be the one with a grin from ear to ear!! LOL

Not sure what thread to post this in. Not my first game, but this fall I plan on going to a game and staying over night. Recommendations on good, convenient hotel to stay in after the game?

I assume this is in the link (haven't checked) but they also open the Stadium tunnel on Fridays and keep it open until 5 or 6 pm -- you can just walk down the tunnel the players go out, to the fence behind the goal post and take pictures of the field, etc. I also make a stop at the Grotto every time I go to campus. It's beautiful and, to me, captures the spirit of the school.
