people this weekend were saying how long it has been (88- 92) since notre dame has been a major contributor to the nfl draft. with suck collegiate powers as usc miami florida state and ohio st being the biggest. while statistics dont lie i have hope. looking at the previous two recruiting classes we have brought in i see a major swing in our favor. another major reason is we graduate alot of our players. so you dont see a influx of juniors coming out early as in most cases. to most kids college is a stepping stone for the pros as where in nd i think they see it as an opportunity to get a great education with the possibilities of playing pro ball. we have a roster full of sophmore talent with a true freshman clas looaded coming in. to all the nay sayers of notre dame (ie. espn, mark may ect.) speak now because in two years your feeling and reputations will be hurt for the might irish will again be powers.

Hopefully we'll go back to the days where the 1st and 2nd rounds are filled with our Irish. I think that would mean a lot of success for us on the football field. Go Irish!

I see it coming with all of you. Now we have to do the hardest thing in the world- wait for a few years.

You guys are all dead on with this one...

1. Good recruiting leads to talent.
2. Talent leads to professional scouts (and more victories).
3. Professional scouts lead to higher draft picks.

Yes. We must be patient. It may not happen this year but next year is when we will be DEADLY!!!!!!! Almost USC esque when they dominated.

i see the same thing. not this year but next. with a starting roster of mostly underclassmen i think we are still on the bubble. but next year i see us doing alot of damage. clausen will be in heisman talk and we may have a runningback in there as well. if not heisman i definitly see our team collecting awards in the next couple of years. trevor could be up for best o lineman we are going to have a few recievers in the talk and our defense awww man who knows what will be going on from that side. i think if we are doing really well either tenuta or cb will be getting head coaching offers. just my opinion.

On the radio I heard some sports jock say that ND's 4 players drafted this year was more than Florida OR Ohio State. Haven't looked to verify it, but it makes you go....hmmmmmmm.

You must remember that we had 4 starters on both sides of the ball that graduated last year. Vernon Gholston, Larry Grant, Kirk Barton and Deonte Johnson. Of the four, only Johnson didn't get drafted. Everyone else got drafted. If Laurinaitis and Jenkins had left, they would've been high first-round picks. Boone and Robiske would've been taken in by the third round at least. Next year will be huge for us.

Claussen has to develop into a first round draft pick. That will keep us stock with top Q.B.'s as long the Mad Scientist is around.
