LOL!!! As the #1 FSU hater on the board, I can't wait to get to hear the reaction from the people at the bar, especially the owner of warchant.com !

this is one of the primary reasons i am a fan of Notre Dame. quality players, students and most importantly, PEOPLE. I'll pass up an academically challenged stud for a smart, 4 star role model any day. Not to mention that the university must hold some responsibility and blame for allowing it to happen.

This could possibly kill the program and Coach Bobby's career. I respect Coach Bobby but the Free Shoes University is all but gone now.

I could never respect that "whiner" nor that school. They have been involved in scandals for so many years that there is no way that Bowden could not know that sort of crap was going on. It's a flip of the coin who did more cheating over the past 2+ decades between UM and F$U! One is worse than the other!!!

Maybe that is who Petey learned from. I had no knowledge of that!

What kills me is that no one will say what's painfully obvious: He's just not a very good coach anymore. FSU has sucked for many years now. At that school, with the talent level in that state, and with the lack of recruiting restrictions they have, that school should be top 5 every year. But Bowden's been horrible this past decade. They win on talent alone. I mean, he doesn't even wear a headset during the damn game! All he does is say 'go for it' or 'punt'. And his lack of institutional control that they've experienced under his tenure is pathetic. I'm actually glad they haven't fired him, because as long as he's there they'll never be elite IMO.

And as for Paterno, I know I'm in the minority but he hasn't been a good coach for several years now as well. In fact, they were pretty mediocre for several years until Paterno sold his soul to the devil 5-6 years ago. You know, when he told his recruiters to go after ANYBODY, regardless of character. Since then, his win totals have gone up, but so have the amount of incidents on the police blotter for his team. If you saw the ESPN Outside the Lines episode last year you know what I'm talking about. And yet because he's JoPa people talk about it for a minute and then they let conveniently forget about it. If ND had the police incidents of a USC, Texas, Florida or Penn State, or the academic scandals of an FSU or USC, you'd never hear the end of it. Makes me sick...

Did you notice that USC was in there twice in that sentence?

That was on purpose. I can't think of any scandals lately, but I know a person who works in Mike Garrett's office, and I also have a friend who knows many well-connected USC alumni, and it's obvious that USC is dirrrrty. Joe McKnight had to miss some time last spring because he was academically ineligible, but magically he was eligible just in time to get his important work in. What a joke. I'd pay soooo much money to see Ray Malauga's transcripts.

True story: I had a USC student (frat boy) a few years back who got busted for doing some dumb-ass drunken prank, and the school forced him to do community service as a result. They had him do things for our school. So he was my teacher's asst for a few days a week for about a month. Anyways, he said he had a class with Mike Williams, AND MIKE NEVER STEPPED A FOOT IN THAT CLASS after the first day until the day of the final. And he passed of course.

He also told me about the 2 incidents involving Ray M before it was even known. Apparently Ray was a major drunk, and at 2 different parties he laid out a guy just for looking at him wrong. At the one where my t.a. witnessed it, he said that Patrick Turner and and another football player had to beg the guy not to press charges. And NOTHING ever happened to Ray Ray.

I don't know if this happens at other schools, but at USC there is a guy who is paid to drive around on a cart all day and make sure that the USC football players are in class. And those dudes are always in trouble with Mike Garrett because they miss class. My 'source' (LOL) says that the basketball players are fine, but the football players are constantly getting in trouble.

And you wonder why they didn't get Te'o???

I can see why some would not respect him, that is a personal opinion and I don't have a problem with that. My office works heavy with charities and I have had the opportunity to work with his charities and what he does for children and the Church. (He actually is a very religious person). I simply stated that because of Bobby Bowden the person.
