Just some observations at half time.

Robert Hughes is a freight train with the ball in his hands. Aldridge is a beast, too.

Kerry Neal and Brian Smith should be the starting OLBs.

ND should find a way to get the ball in Golden Tate's hands.

Only down by 3 at half. I have a good feeling today. They came to play. Most of the line is even doing OK.

I pretty much agree on all counts. Our WR's have been doing a good job, though, so I'm not sure that we should go to Tate instead of them.

This looks like a different team today ........

Everything is looking BETTER, which is good. However, we're still making some dumb mistakes that are costing us. Olsen is REALLY not playing well and he's continually getting blown up on the line. Jimmy needs to know when a play has broken down and stop trying to outrun everyone and make a big play.

neal and smith have looked great. Neal was my favorite recruit from last year and I like the way that he gets after the ball. I would like to see him get some more playing time. I agree that Clausen trys to make the big play too much. It seemed that early in the game on some plays he had some short drag routes open and chose to make a tougher throw downfield instead of tossing the 3-4 yard pass and just picking up yards. But aside from that I think he played pretty well.

Not to be rude, but what games have you been watching exactly? Now that our QB has had a few plays where he actually has enough time to let the WRs run their routes we're just now noticing what's been happening with them through all the other games.....they can't get open. ZERO separation. Tate just may end up being a gamebreaker type of player (Kamara, too) but he needs to be on the field for us to find out.

Let the kid play a few series and see what happens. What do we have to lose by doing so? I don't care if West and Grimes may be more experienced or "know the offense" better - if they can't get open it doesn't matter.

Aldridge grinding it out, Hughes hitting the hole HARD, and Allen for speed.

The future looks good.
