Florida held a coaches conference in New England to meet with local high school coaches this past weekend. Florida's Offensive Line coach led the conference, explaining the offense. This is a genius idea by Urban Meyer as his spread option offense is catching on throughout the country. Florida is able to establish a good connection with these coaches, and players who ran an offense similar to Florida's in high school will be more likely to want to go to Florida. This is a great idea, but the one thing that I was surprised to hear about is that the coaches seem convinced that Tim Tebow will win the Heisman next year. They say that he is the toughest kid the know, and that he participates in hitting drills with linemen. In fact, he will "rip your testicles out and eat them," according to Florida's coaches.

If Larry Fitzgerald didn't win it as a soph. then nobody will, imo

Tebow will probably eat testicles for a different reason rather than to show how tough he is.

If you know what I mean.

He can only run to the left so many times before other teams catch on that he does that 80% of the time, and unless jump shot passes catch on, he won't be in the running for the heisman next year. Top 5? Hmm, can't see it.

Did he even attempt a pass last year over 25 yards? I don't remember ever seeing it when watching a game. doesn't mean he can't do it I know, but Tebow showed me nothing this past year to give him that kind of hype going into the next season. Far better QBs out there, McCoy from Texas, besides that, McFadden is the front runner for the Heisman over anybody, including Pat White and Slaton from WV. Far greater talent than some shithead like Tebow

I know Tebow broke all kinds of records in Florida, but if you look at his HS video, his throwing motion is just weird (maybe I just think that because he is a southpaw) and it seemed like 95% of the passing yards he accumulated were short screen passes to receivers that ran for 30 yards. I don't think his film showed him throwing any passes longer than 15 yards. I'm gonna look at it again though.

Like Brohm, Henne, Brennan, Booty, Woodson, Ryan, McCoy, Reid, LeFevour, Daniel, Skinner, Freeman...

And I agree with you that McFadden is the best player in college football at this moment.

But I also think the Tebow will end up being a pretty good college QB, especially in that system. The QB spot is a glorified TB from the old single wing day, run first and be effective passing second, which is why Leak struggled. Thing I believe that will determine his success in the future is not his skill or the skill of those around him, but how well he holds up to injuries. He will carry the ball a lot on designed runs, options, and scrambles. With his physical style of running, I believe he will eventually get hurt, especially playing in the SEC.

I know he threw the ball down field some against Western Carolina late in the season. :whoknows:

Also, during the conference the O-Line coach claimed that they only ran 3 plays against Ohio State the whole game, just our of 14 different formations. Don't know if I believe this or not, but impressive if it's true.
