With Floyd and Walker, we could have two five-star WRs in this year's class. The only other five-star WR that I could find dates back to 2002 (McKnight -- on scout). Does anyone have any idea whether scout or rivals ranked recruits prior to 2002? Any idea who the highest ranked WR recruit would have been before McKnight?

Another actually just came to mind....Mike Miller, remember him? I think that he was a highly regarded recruit. I just don't know if they had "stars" back then. Stovall was probably rated pretty high. I remember he was high profile as a freshman, and then disappointed until his senior year.

Rocket back in the day, but he might have been considered a DB or Athlete coming out of high school.

I was doing some research last night. I think that USA Today used to be the main source for recruiting rankings. I now remember because we got a guy out of TX that was the high school defensive player of the year. I think that Lou grabbed his face mask once and dragged him off the field. His name escapes me, but his career was less than stellar.

As long as both Walker and Floyd first off SIGN and then CATCH better than Rhema....McKnight was one of the bigger disappointments I can recall at ND in the past few years simply because he was a 5-star WR coming in and I expected him to produce like the 5-star WR that USC has had (Williams, Jarrett, Smith, etc.). Rhema had a solid senior year but I remember the drops and missed chances that turned it into just a solid year instead of a spectacular one...
