SIAP, but i looked and couldn't find anything.

My son and I will be making our first trek to ND this weekend for the UMASS game. I have done a fair bit of research to try and get as much in as possible, but it appears that the stadium construction has gotten rid of the stadium tours, which completely bums me out.

We are going to be driving out from Omaha on Friday morning to hopefully try and get there by the last campus tour @ 3PM, hopefully the Friday Tunnel Tour, and the Pep Rally.

Still not sure about gamely or the best approach, but obviously want to check out the player walk and the Gug, but if there are any thoughts/ideas about things to check out or maybe suggestions on parking, i would greatly appreciate it!

Been a fan since Montana but always prefer to watch my football on TV. I told my wife a few years back that if she ever were to get me a trip to ND, cause my son if a die hard ND fan too, that it would have to be a game that we had the best chance to win. Couldn't take it if we lost on my first visit...

Thanks in advance for all suggestions!

There is so much to do that putting together an intinerary would be almost impossible. I suggest spending as much time on campus as you can. Especially on Saturday. Every campus in America is fun on gameday, but especially at ND when the weather is good. KofC steak sandwiches are a big tradition for many; the player walk; the drum corps on Fri. night.

Check out this link for ideas: Massachusetts // Events // Game Day // University of Notre Dame

Most of us are insanely jealous, so make sure you make the most of it!

Thanks kmoose! I have looked at that link several times and think I have a decent idea. We will definitely soak up everything we possibly can!

Really looking forward to the Knights steak sandwiches.

One area that I am looking for tips on is the Glee club @ the library. The scenes I have always seen shows literally zero room for anybody. Do I need to get to the library super early to get a spot or can I just show up 15-20 mins early and still get a good spot?

I went to South Bend this weekend for the first time. It was amazing. ND played great. The campus is beautiful. Being in the stadium to watch the Irish coming out of the tunnel in person was awesome. Watching the team and the student section sing at the end of the game was awesome. Your going to have a great time.

That is awesome! We are so looking forward to it! I know it will be fantastic no matter what, just so excited that and worried about missing out on so much at the same time :)

The trumpeters under The Dome is a must see. I was standing next to a Pitt fan one year and when they finished he looked at me and said, " that's pne of the coolest things I have ever seen."

Thats the glee club thing in the library right? This is the one that I would like more info on, i.e. where to go, how early, best seat in the house, etc..

No the trumpeters are under the golden dome about an hour before the game. I think they also do it the night before. I am not sure on the Friday one.
