PLay calling with trying to go for the knock-out blow long TD Pass was going on way to much especially with the run game being on the money. The run opens the pass, the pass opens the run, its all about balance and that was missing yesterday. Seemed like old CW out there.

Tate catches the ball and everyone is calling CW a genius again! It was one on one and the DB butt F'ed Tate...GREAT call!!! We are not getting anyone better so WAKE UP!!!! Urban is not coming here, no one is coming...with are acedimic standards, being stuck in the midwest it is too much work recruiting! No one will recruit like Weis has the past few years!!!! Weis is our coach so support him!!!! The fire CW BS is really starting to make me want to stay away from this site!!!!!! Is there anyway to block threads with "Charlie and fire" in the text????

Well said. People fail to realize that UM is not the same team as it was last year but all the drama surrounding them made them look like a scrub team. We made mistakes out there, but UM made some plays as well.

First of all its not at USC. Second of all USC looks awful tonight against OSU. They may lose 3 games this year.

I would think anyone with a modicum of football knowledge would kno that it is just stupid to run the ball into the line 3 times when the other team loads the box. How many teams have lost games by doing that? I would rather lose by at least TRYING to make a first down by playing to our STRENGTH.

Typo....meant to say vs. USC

No, it's not stupid to run the ball three times, on the road, with the lead and two minutes left. We needed Michigan to make the choice of using their timeouts or letting the clock run. Either way, they would've run out of time on their final drive with one less timeout or 11 less seconds.

Our talent and depth are far more superior than Michigans. We should not have lost this game period. We should have won at least 48-38 if not worse. DICKROD OUTCOACHED CHEESBURGER CHARLIE!!!!!! Why do you people INSIST on supporting a man who in 5 MOTHERFUCKING YEARS has yet to win a big game? MORONS, maybe you should just stop drinking the koolaide for fuck sake and realize we still have 2 maybe 3 more games to lose this year as long as he's our coach. But go ahead and be homers and keep supporting a proven loser.

This statement is bullshit. Charlie had plenty of plays that could have put a lot of points on the board. Penalties, dropped balls and overturned calls is why we didn't score more. The only calls I didn't agree with were at the end of the game. But keep in mind, Golden had a great chance to catch the ball and Shaq should have turned faster to catch the ball.

Yes I am drinking the kool-aide and will continue to. This was not a case of Dickrod outcoaching cheeseburger Charlie. The irish did plenty to win but fell short at the end. This is not doom and gloom. We still have a great chance to win lots of games this year.

edit: I do agree that our talent is superior on Offense but I don't know if it is on Defense

Uhhh to the above BOLDED. I will give you a few seconds to look at what you wrote..........1...........2...........3.........4.............5! Now then, can you honestly say that Penalties and dropped balls is not coaching? Thats all coaching. You coach discipline and you coach not to hold and you coach on how to catch the ball with your hands and not your body. Notice how 9 out of 10 times Golden Tate catches it with his body? The drops that he had, he tried catching the ball with his numbers. Anyway I think you're just another sad Weis supporter. So therefore I think your statement is bullshit.

Fair enough. You do have a point that it's coaching but do we blame that on Charlie or the position coach? Charlie does play a big role so I guess blame him but the play call was not the reason for the holds and dropped balls.

YES I DO SUPPORT COACH WEIS AND WANT TO SEE HIM STAY!!!!!!!

sorry for yelling

For all of those that believe that this lose was not Charlie's fault, watch the USC/OSU game again. 8:00 minutes left and down by three, not even with the lead, the Poodle coached a true freshman on a 14 play, 86 yard drive, that took 6:00 off the clock and used up the remaining time outs for OSU. Charlie needs to call him up for some advice on how to call plays when the game is on the line!

Its okay buddy. I still love ya. I defend my points just as much as you defend yours. Thats why this site rocks. You will have people debate you but thats what makes this so fun. LOL I just find it so hard to support Weis. I want to see him have the whole year but if he loses 2 more games especially to State and Usc.....Well I dont see any need for him to stick around.

From ESPN:

What Weis said: When asked what's next for his 1-1 team: "That's a very, very, very good question. It was the same question I raised in the locker room at the end of the game. I said, 'Are you going to sit there and pout and say we should have won the game? Is it going to be that kind of attitude or are you going to use this to not be feeling like this again?' I think the No. 1 thing they have to do if they don't want to be feeling like this again is do something about it."

What he didn't say: What he is going to do about it.

CW not mapping out how he's going to correct mistakes....wow....a shocker.

Dude, just because someone disagrees with you doesn't mean they are morons. Chill the f out. It's an opinion that he has that you don't. Relax.

I'm not saying relax about the loss. Not at all. I woke up this morning and I'm still pissed. We don't have to get all personal over differing opinions...

EDIT: Just read your response above as I was typing my post, and you've chilled and you're cool. It's all good...

C'mon, do you really believe what you just said? Seriously? That's absolutely ridiculous. You don't think he's going to look at film and try to correct mistakes? You think he's going to tell a bunch of reporters exactly what he's going to do? (BTW, if you hate him, the correct statement he'll look at film and not know what to do to correct mistakes. But to say what you said is ridiculous.)

Get a grip. There's so much crap you can talk about CW, obviously, but you're grasping at straws, taking ANYTHING he says and using it against him. Let's not turn into a friggin' LSU board...

Remeber nasty, intelligent blah blah blah....didn't happen.

Dropped balls is NOT coaching. Maybe from a freshman but not from an All-american WR. We aere past that stage. Those drops are mental mistakes that are all on golden tate. He is a great player but you cant blame those drops on CW.

Let's say for instance that we get a few first downs and run out the clock and win 34-31. Is anyone blasting Tenuta for giving up over 400 yards and 31 points to a freshman qb this morning?? The answer is no, but we should be!!

Some people just hate CW and WANT to see him fail, which as a ND fan is mind boggling to me. Tenuta needs to be burned at the stake for this one, not CW. 490 yards of offense and 34 points, and that is not enough for Tenuta to work with??

And Weis WILL NOT be fired before the end of the season. He will get the whole year.

the thing is....that didn't happen.

Yeah but that does not change the fact that he was going for the kill, it just did not work out sometimes it does sometimes it doesn't. I don't think that he really felt the defense would be able to hold onto the lead and he was right. I certainly don't blame him for thinking that way after seeing them struggle to figure out Forcier all game either. That being said I probably would have ran twice then thrown if it was more than 3-4 yards, thats the only part I was really upset with in that whole sequence.

that's how i feel. i felt cw called a great game, but screwed up when it mattered most. granted the defense didn't help matters, but you still have to run the ball at least twice in that last series. make 'em burn a timeout. oh well, it's over now. i'm still pissed, so i'm here to vent somewhat.

They were heading down that road anyways. Might as well not let them have any timeouts while they are at it.

We can all agree that it would have been so much better had we won. I don't think that Michigan should have even been close to winning and for that I say the whole team is to blame. On to Michigan State.

Jonesman is with it, we lost but if you dont think it was a perfect storm for a loss then I cant say much more. They got breaks and played very well. Ask a mich guy if they'ed like to play us next week. I think not. Charlie has put the pieces in place, now these guys need to learn how to win close games against good teams. I like what I see but it depends on what they ( players ) decide to do from here out. Clausen has come of age right before our eyes, AA is now the back we wanted, the tight end is a 1st team all America, the outside guys are the maybe the best set in the country, the O line is really a quality group, give the defense a chance to catch up. Charlie did not lose this game, he cant play it for them. They gotta learn how to win by losing. There's another bull$#@% loss in the pile this year. I just dont think its on OCT 17.

Amen brother. I really dont think Michigan State can consistently stop our offense. And I think our defense has a better chance of shutting down a more traditional offense. That being said, we cant seem to beat them in South Bend. That has to stop on Saturday.

Get a win against Sparty and all will be right with the world again...

You don't think that if we had time for one last drive we would have won. We made stupid mistakes and didn't get some breaks. shit happens we lost to a good team. They may not be as talented as us but that offense is created to make up for that.

Exactly. If the team steps upto the plate then Sparty is gonna be in for a long day next week. The guys need to take the loss use it as motivation and learn from their mistakes. If this happens i feel sorry for any team that plays us this year. ANY TEAM
