Few questions on tailgating

I'm going to the ND-Pitt game, first time I've been to the stadium in a few years. I saw on the ND website that no charcoal is allowed. Is this rule strictly enforced? I don't have a portable gas grill. Also, about what time do people arrive to the lots? Do they open at 8?

No Charcoal....Strictly enforced.

We usually get into White Field by 7:15-7:30

We are usually in the Library lot at 6 am. Definately no charcoal.

this doesn't concern me at all just because im not a tailgater...but why is charcoal not allowed?

Because not only does it create a mess, but if not extinguished properly, you'll need Smokey the Bear to get busy on that nastiness...And 20,000 charred cars doesn't sound like too much fun to me.

Oh yeah... definitely don't want charcoal on campus. Bad mojo there... we don't need a repeat of the disaster I witnessed at a Browns tailgate several years ago when a tailgate/pig roast in a nearby parking lot went awry.

Drunks and grease fires do not mix.
