I don't know how many people like or watch the show but wow it is amazing to see the work that can get done by volunteers. They are in our fire district so we are providing 24-7 coverage with our ambulance. I finished my 3 tour today and have met alot of incredible people. The producers are extremly nice and the stars for the most part are nice as well. If the show comes near your town try and help out. I know i am not do construction like the rest but the feeling you get helping someone else is price less. Thats also why i am a volunteer firefighter/emt. This make over is kinda special to our fire dept. The family reciving help has a son that was about 15 years old last christmas eve. The were in the process of remodeling their old house and trying to get it ready for Christmas breakfast. When the young mans jacket selve got caught in the saw and had a complete amputated hand. Even though it is a holiday we still show up and help at all cost. Our families sometimes get left behind so we can help others. Not trying to make anyone feel bad but we all will need help at sometime so take a min and give someone else a hand.

They came to Kokomo last year or the year before i believe and a bunch of the sports teams from my college went down and helped out. everyone I talked to loved the experience and it is a neat thing to see. if i remember correctly tho, a bunch of my friends said they do alot of the work before they actually start filming. this makes perfect sense to me since alot of the time they are rebuilding an entire house and 7 days almost seems impossible.

This house they didn't do like that. However it was a modular. The brought the 5 prebuilt boxes in set them with a crane and then built the roof onscene.
