I recently looked on the espn.go.com front page and one of the insider articles is Bob Stoops meet Touchdown Jesus.. Just a rumor? im not an insider so i have no idea what the article says. any thoughts?

its all rumors. unfortunately nobody but Jack S knows whats going to happen with The Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

Fans on here want to pretend to know, but they dont. and the media loves possible coaching transitions, especially at the most Prestigious university in the country.

every coach on the face of the planet has been mentioned but its all speculation.

It sucks but i think Jack S is saying something by not saying anything at all.

The article says that Oklahoma's Bob Stoops and Iowa's Kirk Ferentz are on the list of candidates to be the new coach. It also says that a source has also said that Stoops has told some people that he would be interested in taking over.

Still all a bunch of rumors.

Please God no!!!!!! No Big Ten coaches!!!! It's hard to justify how solid a big ten program is especially since they are, well, a big ten program. You've got to be kidding me with this one!!! Of all the coaches mentioned in the rumor mill, Stoops is the only home run, imo. If you can talk him into it and get it done, do it. If not you might as well stick with Charlie. Why buy out a guy and hire someone else with a similar resume.

Was bound to happen sooner or later at USC. Freshman QB etc etc. It won't last long and they'll be back to crushing ND by 40 in the next few years.

Big 10 is tanking and has been for years. It took Ferentz years to get Iowa going, because they gave him time to BUILD, even though everyone was calling for his head.

I have no idea, but if he is receiving any sort of heat from fans with their 6-4 start, then I would be pretty pissed about it if I were him. Their 4 losses were by a combined 12 points. Again, I have no idea about whether or not the fans are ticked off at him and their record, but if they are I can imagine he's not too happy about that, and would seriously consider leaving for ND.
